GREAT VALUE ! Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 with black bezel insert and “SWISS MADE” dial on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This A73xxxx case number watch from around 1999 is in very pleasing condition, although we do note some very minor marks to the bezel. It comes with Submariner booklet, later Rolex boxes, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The larger, NEW equivalent is now £9,000 (if you can find one….) but the earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right. Available from Miltons of 36 Borough Pavement, Birkenhead Pyramids. Those interested in Rolex trivia may like to note that this watch’s case number suggests it was made in the same batch of 16610s from which a small number of special “Panama Canal” watches were drawn. Those Submariners (and, for the avoidance of doubt, NOT this specific watch) bore dials commissioned with a unique Panama Canal insignia in place of the usual text in the lower half and were then presented to the Canal pilots, to celebrate its passing from the United States of America to Panama.
