It is in lovely condition with only moderate wear to bezel and bracelet. There is no longer a direct NEW equivalent model, but even a smaller 31mm Datejust now has an RRP of £5,950! £8,599 Stock number: 52-67-001Colourful variant, no longer offered by Rolex ! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400GV on Oyster 72400A bracelet with “Z-Blue” / index dial, orange “lightning bolt” seconds hand and green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass. Has Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag and and UK warranty card from John D. Eaton Ltd in Derby dated October 2014. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over 15 years ago but this last version with its striking green glass / blue dial was especially popular. When it last appeared in UK price lists the NEW RRP was £7,850, but like many of the more unusual steel Professional models, it was always a very hard watch to source at main agents. Interest has only increased now production seems to have stopped. Priced reasonably to reflect superficial wear to the edge of the glass.

£7,399 Stock number: 82-66-005Stainless steel 40mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with black / index baton dial having orange detail and “lightning bolt” seconds hand, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. Comes with both boxes, Milgauss booklet, UK warranty card dated November 2008 from David M. Robinson in Chester (before that store closed down) and a Rolex UK service card dated June 2012. In very nice condition, but we do note superficial wear to the glass including a small surface scratch near the 7 o’clock marker, which is reflected in the price. The original Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part in the form of the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland, but with time became a rare and desirable line. This watch is one of the newer models launched at Basel in 2007, but as yet another discontinued version it now has a market all of its own. Many clients admire the Milgauss simply for being such a big watch, with its lovely, clear dial options and funky colour accents. Available from Miltons of Church Street, Liverpool city centre.

It has also just had a new glass fitted by Rolex UK. £3,299 Stock number: 52-70-00536mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust model 1603 from the late 1970s with silver / baton “pie-pan” dial and Jubilee 62510 bracelet. It has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. Because of its age, we offer it with only a ONE year warranty and ask you to note : (1) this model correctly has no “quick-set” facility for changing the date at the end of a short month, so the wearer must turn the hands through 24 hours to advance the date and (2) the bracelet shows some signs of age and wear. It is priced very reasonably to reflect the above. Comes with our own presentation box & warranty card, and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. With a similar, NEW 36mm Datejust today costing £6,450 it is easy to see why such vintage models appear increasingly attractive. £2,499 Stock number: 60-54-014Classic manual-wind Rolex Oyster from the late 1960s! Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Precision model 6426 with popular matt black / baton dial. This circa-1967 watch appears to have been up-graded with a new Oyster 78350 bracelet fitted around 1993, which would be consistent with a Rolex UK service denoted inside the case-back. It is in very pleasing condition, showing few signs of its age. The Oyster Precision is an entry-level model and it should be noted that (1) it needs to be manually wound each day and (2) we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. Comes with our own presentation box, warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The watch is in very fine condition but there are some superficial marks on the highly-polished bezel. 36mm stainless steel and white metal Rolex Datejust TURN-O-GRAPH model 116264 on Jubilee 63200 bracelet with bright white / baton dial. Comes with Rolex boxes, correct Datejust booklet, red swing-tag and UK papers from John Pass the Jewellers in Crewe dated January 2006. A new equivalent was last listed in Rolex UK’s 2016 price list at £6,000 – but production ceased some years ago, since when there have been significant price rises across the rest of the range and increasing interest in this model. Red detail to the dial text, seconds hand and date display are distinctive on the modern Turn-o-Graph. Please note that while it features a time-lapse bezel, the Turn-o-Graph remains essentially a dress watch. For more robust use we would recommend one of the Rolex Professional range, perhaps a Submariner. This watch attracts collector interest in its unworn, stickered state. Please note that removing the stickers and / or wearing it may reduce that value somewhat.

This somewhat collectible model with 738xxxx case number dates from around 1982, which is also consistent with its “G” clasp code. To change the date on this 1520-calibre model, one simply advances the main hands forwards or backwards past midnight. In fine condition for its age, but please note that (1) the dial shows some minor marks and other signs of age, (2) we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant and (3) time-keeping may-not be as accurate as a modern, chronometer-rated Rolex. £3,999 Stock number: 62-38-001Collectible “box & papers” set from 1987 ! 34mm stainless steel Oyster Perpetual DATE model 15000 with champagne / baton dial on Jubilee 62510 bracelet. This watch is in very nice condition for its age and contains the 3035 calibre movement which introduced the quick-set date-change feature, but it is an acrylic glass model and we no longer recommend that such watches be considered water-resistant. While the gold-coloured dial seems unusual on a steel watch, this was an option for a number of years and lends an appealing “vintage” feel to it. Comes with its original 15000 box-set, “YOUR ROLEX OYSTER” booklet with 1985 print-code, plastic document wallet with numbered sticker and COSC translation leaflet, numbered green tag and original, punched Rolex papers from Bahrain dated June 1987, which even bear the original “15000” case-back sticker. The bracelet clasp-code, “K8”, suggests that the Jubilee bracelet, which was more expensive and rarer than the Oyster on this model, is also original to the watch. Rolex no longer make a direct NEW equivalent, but a similar Datejust 31 is now £5,650. Of course, the vintage appeal of such a watch creates a market in its own right. £25 Stock number: Misc.PT 114864GENUINE ROLEX service / storage / travel pouch with folding press-stud flap and simple green watch-holder insert. Each is approx 12cm x 6.5cm when closed and is suitable for holding a single example of most models in the Rolex range. For a number of years these green pouches were provided by the service division of Rolex UK when they returned a watch to its owner. Many owners now use them as smart travel or storage pouches. They are pre-owned, but many have simply been in our stores since they came with a watch from Rolex. The price quoted is for a single pouch and we anticipate having a small number available from which clients may choose. £39 Stock number: Misc. PT 114864Gent’s genuine Rolex wallet in green leather with reference 0068.08.34 printed in discrete gold-coloured foil inside one of the pockets. This is a slim, folding wallet of approx 144mm x 105mm when closed. Has reinforced corners and Rolex coronet branding to front. These wallets were supplied with gents’ and professional / sports models around the millennium. English bank notes did not fit them at the time and so many were never used, but the latest generation of £5 and £10 notes and credit cards do now fit as illustrated. It is not suitable for coins, or £20 / £50 notes. We have a small stock of these wallets available at both our Chester and Liverpool (St. John’s) stores. £4,099 Stock number: 82-41-012Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual DATE model 15210 with smart grey / baton “ghost” dial on Oyster 78350 bracelet. This 1996 model comes with Rolex boxes, O.P. DATE booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The “ghost” dials (usually pale colours with white text) have seen increased collector interest in recent years. It is in lovely condition with just superficial marking to the engine-turned bezel. There is no longer a direct NEW equivalent model, but even a smaller 31mm Datejust now has an RRP of £5,950! Available from Miltons of 36 Borough Pavement, Birkenhead Pyramids.
£6,999 Stock number: 52-58-01536mm stainless steel and white metal Rolex Datejust model 116234 on Jubilee 63600 bracelet with smart silver-grey / roman numeral dial. In excellent condition having spent much of its short life in our pawnbroking safes, but we do note that the glass is a generic replacement, not by Rolex, which is reflected in the price. It comes with Rolex boxes, Datejust booklet, green swing-tag and UK warranty card from Aurum Group (Goldsmiths etc) dated April 2017. The NEW equivalent is now £7,300 but supply is so far behind demand that residual prices have never been stronger.
£4,199 Stock number: 50-70-026Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual DATE model 15210 on Oyster 78350 bracelet with distinctive coppery-pink / 2-4-6-8-10 dial. This 2006 model is in excellent condition, coming with Rolex boxes, Oyster Perpetual DATE booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. £2,599 Stock number: 52-24-036Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King-Date Precision model 5700 with silver / baton dial on folded-link Oyster 7835 bracelet. This somewhat collectible model dates from around 1974 and its 3756xxx case number suggests manufacture in the same batch as the one illustrated on p361 of Osvaldo Patrizzi’s book, “Collecting Rolex Wristwatches.” To change the date on this 1520-calibre model, one simply advances the main hands forwards or backwards past midnight. In fine condition for its age, but please note that (1) the bracelet shows some signs of wear and distortion, (2) we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant and (3) time-keeping may-not be as accurate as a modern, chronometer-rated Rolex. Offered with our own presentation box, warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them.
