It had a new glass fitted by Rolex UK in June 2023. Most other examples on the market at the time of writing have their original warranty card and are priced closer to or well above the NEW equivalent, which is now £13,850. Availability remains limited and clearly if you could obtain a new model for that price then you should. Our keen price reflects the fact that this watch lacks its original warranty card, but it remains one of the most desirable models, in superb condition and — crucially — is available today.

£7,499 Stock number: 50-79-063Colourful variant, no longer offered by Rolex ! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400GV on Oyster 72400 bracelet with black / index dial, orange “lightning bolt” seconds hand / quarter markers and green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass. Has Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card dated September 2009. In excellent condition, although we do note very minor, superficial wear to the glass. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over 15 years ago but this last version with its striking green glass was especially popular. When it last appeared in UK price lists the NEW RRP was £7,850, but like many of the more unusual steel Professional models, it was usually a very hard watch to source at main agents. Interest has only increased now production seems to have stopped.

Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision model 5500 with smart silver / baton -T SWISS T- dial on sturdy Oyster 78350 bracelet. In very pleasing condition, this early 1980s watch comes with both boxes, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet and original, punched Rolex papers. It is not clear whether these papers are dated April 1982 or April 1984. This is an outstanding “entry-level” Oyster Perpetual but please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. * These latest service cards first appeared in late 2023. They bear no visible details of the watch or service, but instead a QR code that leads to an on-line demonstration of how to access the associated watch’s service details. By holding an enabled smart-phone next to the card, an NFC link is provided which brings up the watch’s unique details and in this instance confirms that it has a service warranty which runs until August 2026.

£6,999 Stock number: 82-66-005Stainless steel 40mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with black / index baton dial having orange detail and “lightning bolt” seconds hand, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. Comes with both boxes, Milgauss booklet, UK warranty card dated November 2008 from David M. Robinson in Chester (before that store closed down) and a Rolex UK service card dated June 2012. In very nice condition, but we do note superficial wear to the glass including a small surface scratch near the 7 o’clock marker, which is reflected in the price. The original Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part in the form of the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland, but with time became a rare and desirable line. This watch is one of the newer models launched at Basel in 2007, but as yet another discontinued version it now has a market all of its own. Many clients admire the Milgauss simply for being such a big watch, with its lovely, clear dial options and funky colour accents. Available from Miltons of Church Street, Liverpool city centre.

£3,999 Stock number: 62-38-001Collectible “box & papers” set from 1987 ! 34mm stainless steel Oyster Perpetual DATE model 15000 with champagne / baton dial on Jubilee 62510 bracelet. This watch is in very nice condition for its age and contains the 3035 calibre movement which introduced the quick-set date-change feature, but it is an acrylic glass model and we no longer recommend that such watches be considered water-resistant. While the gold-coloured dial seems unusual on a steel watch, this was an option for a number of years and lends an appealing “vintage” feel to it. Comes with its original 15000 box-set, “YOUR ROLEX OYSTER” booklet with 1985 print-code, plastic document wallet with numbered sticker and COSC translation leaflet, numbered green tag and original, punched Rolex papers from Bahrain dated June 1987, which even bear the original “15000” case-back sticker. The bracelet clasp-code, “K8”, suggests that the Jubilee bracelet, which was more expensive and rarer than the Oyster on this model, is also original to the watch. Rolex no longer make a direct NEW equivalent, but a similar Datejust 31 is now £6,300. Of course, the vintage appeal of such a watch creates a market in its own right. £25 Stock number: Misc.PT 114864GENUINE ROLEX service / storage / travel pouch with folding press-stud flap and simple green watch-holder insert. Each is approx 12cm x 6.5cm when closed and is suitable for holding a single example of most models in the Rolex range. For a number of years these green pouches were provided by the service division of Rolex UK when they returned a watch to its owner. Many owners now use them as smart travel or storage pouches. They are pre-owned, but many have simply been in our stores since they came with a watch from Rolex. The price quoted is for a single pouch and we anticipate having a small number available from which clients may choose. £39 Stock number: Misc. PT 114864Gent’s genuine Rolex wallet in green leather with reference 0068.08.34 printed in discrete gold-coloured foil inside one of the pockets. This is a slim, folding wallet of approx 144mm x 105mm when closed. Has reinforced corners and Rolex coronet branding to front. These wallets were supplied with gents’ and professional / sports models around the millennium. English bank notes did not fit them at the time and so many were never used, but the latest generation of £5 and £10 notes and credit cards do now fit as illustrated. It is not suitable for coins, or £20 / £50 notes. We have a small stock of these wallets available at both our Chester and Liverpool (St. John’s) stores. £5,399 Stock number: 52-76-00536mm stainless steel Rolex Datejust model 16220 on Jubilee 62510 bracelet with a graduated blue / diamond dot dial which is a GENUINE Rolex part but intended for dearer models. It also has a diamond-set bezel made by a third party, NOT by Rolex. Comes with a later Rolex box, an Oyster booklet and original UK papers from Watches of Switzerland in Cambridge dated November 1990. In very good condition but the bracelet shows signs of wear, reflected in the price. As purist fans of the brand we have never been too keen on third-party customisation but when such watches come out of our pawnbroking department they always seem to find enthusiastic buyers !
