GMT-Master

  • Stainless steel Rolex “Pepsi” GMT-Master: 3175-calibre model 16700 from around 1993 with black dial and blue / red bezel insert, on Oyster 78360 bracelet. Comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, undated international papers and a Rolex UK service slip from April 2009. It would appear that the hands have been replaced at service, but the original SWISS-T<25 dial has been retained, now with beautifully mellowed tritium in the hour markers. There are a few, light signs of age and wear but this is a highly desirable model, extremely wearable and among the cheapest in the UK which still have their original papers.

The range of NEW GMT-Masters now starts from £6,450 but these older models have increasingly developed their own following in recent years. The halo effect of the almost-unobtainable new “Pepsi” 126710, which on the secondary market is currently selling for around twice the new RRP, should not be under-estimated.

  • Bicolour Rolex GMT-Master II model 16713 with black dial and bezel insert. Unusually, it is found on a 93153 Oyster Fliplock bracelet more commonly associated with the contemporary Submariner model, but the date code of this bracelet corresponds with the watch head and it is quite possible that it was upgraded at the original customer’s request. The watch is in very pleasing condition and shows few signs of age. It comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, numbered green swing-tag and Rolex papers from Amsterdam dated January 2000. The NEW equivalent is now £10,000! Available from Miltons of Chester, under the famous clock.

  • Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16710 T with black dial and bezel insert on Oysterlock 78790A bracelet. This lovely 3185-calibre model has original Rolex 16710 boxes, GMT-Master booklet and UK papers from Goldsmiths in Leicester dated December 2004. The NEW equivalent is now £6,450 but these slightly slimmer, previous-generation models have in the last couple of years enjoyed an accelerating market that has been all their own. A quick search of UK dealers will illustrate that many are asking significantly more than this for 16710 GMT-Masters that are not in such nice condition and don’t have their original papers! Available from Miltons of Church Street, Liverpool city centre.

  • Bicolour Rolex GMT-Master II model 16713 with black dial and bezel insert on Oysterlock 78793A bracelet. This is one of the last “pierced lug” models which correctly bears the upgraded, solid end-link bracelet. It is in excellent condition, our only comment being that the bezel insert detail has mellowed to a pleasing, slightly paler gold colour than when new. Comes with Rolex 16713 boxes, GMT-Master booklet and USA papers dated April 2003. The NEW equivalent is now £10,000! Available from Miltons of Church Street, Liverpool city centre.

  • November 2018 watch, with its warranty card! One of the most desperately sought after models, available TODAY, UNWORN in some of its delivery stickers, with green swing-tag and NO silly nonsense about the warranty card being withheld*! Rolex “Pepsi” GMT-Master II model 126710 with black dial and that distinctive, two-tone bezel on Jubilee 69200 bracelet. We are aware that main agents have hundreds of outstanding requests for this model which at the current rate of supply will not be met for decades. Having paid well over RRP for it ourselves, we are in turn selling it at a significant premium to the list price. Ask for our Rolex-trained specialists Phil or Paul to discuss this watch with you. Comes with original boxes, GMT-Master II booklet, green swing-tag and international warranty card dated November 2018. The notional NEW RRP of this model is £7,150 but if you try to find one, prepare to be disappointed.

While their clients have to wait months or years for certain models in the stainless steel Professional series of watches, some Rolex main agents are now stripping new watches of delivery stickers, keeping the numbered swing-tag and refusing to supply the warranty card until a year or more after sale. This is an attempt to hinder the premium resale or “grey market” in the watches which their very lack of supply causes.

  • Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16710 with original black “SWISS – T < 25” dial on Oyster 78360 bracelet. The 16710 was available with different bezel options but this one has just been fitted with a “new old stock” version of its signature red black insert, known as the “Coke” bezel by collectors. Having a case number in the S4xxxxx range, this will be a circa 1994 watch. At that time the plain Oyster bracelet was a standard option and the “S10” clasp code on this one denotes October 1994 manufacture, indicating that it is original to the watch. Showing few signs of its age, it comes with its original GMT-Master booklet, numbered green swing-tag, Rolex boxes and our own warranty card. The NEW equivalent is now £6,450 but these earlier models have increasingly attracted a following of their own among collectors.

  • December 2016 watch, available today with BOTH swing-tags and NO silly nonsense about the warranty card being withheld*Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 116710BLNR with black dial / blue and black ceramic bezel insert on Oysterlock 78200 bracelet. Nicknamed the “Bruiser” or “Batman” GMT by fans because of its distinctive bezel colours, this watch has spent much of its short life in our pawnbroking safes and remains in superb condition. It comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master II booklet, both swing-tags and UK warranty card from David M. Robinson dated December 2016. The NEW RRP of this popular model is £6,850 but this is one of several steel professional models that can now be very hard to obtain new without joining a long waiting list, so we are selling it at a premiumClearly if you can find one at RRP then you should buy it. Good luck! Available from Miltons of Chester, under the famous clock.
