£3,299 Stock number: 82-83-011Classic 1960s vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision – still with original UK papers ! Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision model 5500 with very attractive silver / Arabic numeral / SWISS dial. At some point it has been fitted with a modern, sturdier Rolex Oyster 78350 bracelet than would originally have been supplied. It is also now fitted with a generic glass, not by Rolex. In very pleasing condition, this 1960s watch ( case back internally coded for the final quarter of 1963) comes with original UK “Guarantee and At Your Service” booklet (which contains instructions) dated April 1967 at Kenworthys of Ashton-Under-Lyne, and a generic presentation box. This is an outstanding “entry-level” Oyster Perpetual but please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. Our Watch Team would be delighted to show you how to unscrew the crown, to set the time and (if necessary) to wind it manually.

We have a surplus of this type of Rolex boxes, which were supplied with new Rolex watches from around 2004-2014.
SMALL and MEDIUM sizes are available, usually referred to as ref 30.00.xx, 39137.xx or “Samoa” and ref 31.00.xx, 39139.xx or “Moorea” respectively.
Boxes from c.2004-2010 came with a solid, oval watch cushion that was not well suited to ladies’ watches with short bracelets.
Boxes from c.2010-2014 came with a squashy “E”-shape cushion that would hold most watches comfortably.
Each box or set will be priced individually to reflect condition, completeness etc and sold as it is.
We will not swap parts from one box or set to another.
Rolex main agents often grabbed the first box that came to hand when selling a watch, but steel watches were commonly intended to come in smaller boxes / bicolour watches in medium.

Comes with Rolex boxes, Sky-Dweller booklet, green COSC swing-tag, five-year warranty translation booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It had a new glass fitted by Rolex UK in June 2023. Most other examples on the market at the time of writing have their original warranty card and are priced closer to or well above the NEW equivalent, which is now £14,150. Availability remains limited and clearly if you could obtain a new model for that price then you should. Our keen price reflects the fact that this watch lacks its original warranty card, but it remains one of the most desirable models, in superb condition and — crucially — is available today.

£13,999 Stock number: 80-74-002Classic Rolex Day-Date with what is now a popular “retro” look ! 36mm Rolex Day-Date model 18078 in 18ct yellow gold with sparkling champagne / diamond dot dial on President 8723 bracelet (concealed clasp version). This 1986 model with original BARK finish to bezel and bracelet is in very pleasing condition. It shows surprisingly little sign of wear to the bracelet, just a small bump on the underside of a link near the 12 o’clock end, where it cannot be seen once on the wrist, and we note that a generic glass (not by Rolex) has been fitted. Comes with large, brown “luggage-style” Rolex box, correct 1986 Day-Date booklet ( accessories which are themselves now quite valuable ! ), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. £7,499 Stock number: 50-79-063Colourful variant, no longer offered by Rolex ! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400GV on Oyster 72400 bracelet with black / index dial, orange “lightning bolt” seconds hand / quarter markers and green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass. Has Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card dated September 2009. In excellent condition, although we do note very minor, superficial wear to the glass. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over 15 years ago but this last version with its striking green glass was especially popular. When it last appeared in UK price lists the NEW RRP was £7,850, but like many of the more unusual steel Professional models, it was usually a very hard watch to source at main agents. Interest has only increased now production seems to have stopped.

Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 (non-date) model 116000 on Oyster 70200A bracelet with smart silver / index baton dial. In beautiful condition after £631-worth of service work comprising a movement overhaul and new glass, it comes with both boxes, Oyster Perpetual booklet, green chronometer swing-tag, international Rolex warranty card dated June 2016 and one of the very latest Rolex “World Service” cards*. The NEW equivalent is now £5,300 but supply is still struggling to meet demand and many stainless steel Rolex can attract a small premium, as here.
* These latest service cards first appeared in late 2023. They bear no visible details of the watch or service, but instead a QR code that leads to an on-line demonstration of how to access the associated watch’s service details. By holding an enabled smart-phone next to the card, an NFC link is provided which brings up the watch’s unique details and in this instance confirms that it has a service warranty which runs until August 2026.

£6,999 Stock number: 82-66-005Stainless steel 40mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with black / index baton dial having orange detail and “lightning bolt” seconds hand, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. Comes with both boxes, Milgauss booklet, UK warranty card dated November 2008 from David M. Robinson in Chester (before that store closed down) and a Rolex UK service card dated June 2012. In very nice condition, but we do note superficial wear to the glass including a small surface scratch near the 7 o’clock marker, which is reflected in the price. The original Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part in the form of the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland, but with time became a rare and desirable line. This watch is one of the newer models launched at Basel in 2007, but as yet another discontinued version it now has a market all of its own. £14,999 Stock number: 52-61-004Interesting and collectible white gold Rolex! 36mm Rolex Day-Date model 18039 in 18ct white gold with grey-brown “ghost” / diamond dot dial on President 8385 bracelet. The “ghost” dials (usually pale colours with white text) have seen increased collector interest in recent years. In very good condition, this 1980s watch comes with large “luggage-style” Rolex box, correct Day-Date booklet (itself now increasingly valuable!), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. At considerable expense we have just fitted a number of new links direct from Rolex, but we do note that the dial is showing very slight signs of age and the glass is generic, NOT by Rolex. Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision model 5500 with dark grey / baton dial on folded link Oyster 7835 bracelet. In very pleasing condition, but under close inspection the dial is showing its age and this is reflected in the price. Comes with generic presentation box, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. Please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. In very good condition, although under magnification we can see some small marks on the hands and hour markers. Rolex with fancy-coloured dials have been extremely popular in recent years. Please note that this is the simplified “OP34” version of the 114200 which replaced the previous “Air-King” variant. Comes with both boxes, Oyster Perpetual booklet, green swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card from Spain dated November 2017. The NEW equivalent is now £5,000 and is not available with this desirable and distinctive dial. £3,999 Stock number: 62-38-001Collectible “box & papers” set from 1987 ! 34mm stainless steel Oyster Perpetual DATE model 15000 with champagne / baton dial on Jubilee 62510 bracelet. This watch is in very nice condition for its age and contains the 3035 calibre movement which introduced the quick-set date-change feature, but it is an acrylic glass model and we no longer recommend that such watches be considered water-resistant. While the gold-coloured dial seems unusual on a steel watch, this was an option for a number of years and lends an appealing “vintage” feel to it. Comes with its original 15000 box-set, “YOUR ROLEX OYSTER” booklet with 1985 print-code, plastic document wallet with numbered sticker and COSC translation leaflet, numbered green tag and original, punched Rolex papers from Bahrain dated June 1987, which even bear the original “15000” case-back sticker. The bracelet clasp-code, “K8”, suggests that the Jubilee bracelet, which was more expensive and rarer than the Oyster on this model, is also original to the watch. Rolex no longer make a direct NEW equivalent, but a similar Datejust 31 is now £6,300. Of course, the vintage appeal of such a watch creates a market in its own right. £25 Stock number: Misc.PT 114864GENUINE ROLEX service / storage / travel pouch with folding press-stud flap and simple green watch-holder insert. Each is approx 12cm x 6.5cm when closed and is suitable for holding a single example of most models in the Rolex range. For a number of years these green pouches were provided by the service division of Rolex UK when they returned a watch to its owner. Many owners now use them as smart travel or storage pouches. They are pre-owned, but many have simply been in our stores since they came with a watch from Rolex. The price quoted is for a single pouch and we anticipate having a small number available from which clients may choose.
