An outstanding example of this popular but very recently discontinued model, it was pawned immediately after purchase and has remained in our safes every since, with bezel protector and delivery stickers to case and bracelet. £3,299 Stock number: 82-83-011Classic 1960s vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision – still with original UK papers ! Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision model 5500 with very attractive silver / Arabic numeral / SWISS dial. At some point it has been fitted with a modern, sturdier Rolex Oyster 78350 bracelet than would originally have been supplied. It is also now fitted with a generic glass, not by Rolex. In very pleasing condition, this 1960s watch ( case back internally coded for the final quarter of 1963) comes with original UK “Guarantee and At Your Service” booklet (which contains instructions) dated April 1967 at Kenworthys of Ashton-Under-Lyne, and a generic presentation box. This is an outstanding “entry-level” Oyster Perpetual but please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. Our Watch Team would be delighted to show you how to unscrew the crown, to set the time and (if necessary) to wind it manually.

We have a surplus of this type of Rolex boxes, which were supplied with new Rolex watches from around 2004-2014.
SMALL and MEDIUM sizes are available, usually referred to as ref 30.00.xx, 39137.xx or “Samoa” and ref 31.00.xx, 39139.xx or “Moorea” respectively.
Boxes from c.2004-2010 came with a solid, oval watch cushion that was not well suited to ladies’ watches with short bracelets.
Boxes from c.2010-2014 came with a squashy “E”-shape cushion that would hold most watches comfortably.
Each box or set will be priced individually to reflect condition, completeness etc and sold as it is.
We will not swap parts from one box or set to another.
Rolex main agents often grabbed the first box that came to hand when selling a watch, but steel watches were commonly intended to come in smaller boxes / bicolour watches in medium.

As with the Rolex Daytona, it seems that a steel Rolex with complicated functions can prove exceptionally popular. Comes with Rolex boxes, Sky-Dweller booklet, green COSC swing-tag, five-year warranty translation booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It had a new glass fitted by Rolex UK in June 2023. Most other examples on the market at the time of writing have their original warranty card and are priced closer to or well above the NEW equivalent, which is now £14,150. £6,799 Stock number: 52-81-032Stainless steel “polar” Rolex Explorer II model 16570 with white “SWISS-T<25” dial on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. It shows signs of only moderate wear for its age and comes with Rolex boxes, Explorer booklet and UK papers from Goldsmiths dated August 1997. While most associate the Fliplock 93150 bracelet with Submariner models, it was an option on the 16570 for many years, although we note that the clasp on this one has separately been replaced at some point. The latest, fat-case Explorer II now has a new RRP of £8,500 but all the earlier generations of professional models like this attract great interest in their own right.

Those interested in Rolex trivia may like to note that this watch’s case number suggests it was made in the same batch of 16610s from which a small number of special “Panama Canal” watches were drawn. Those Submariners (and, for the avoidance of doubt, NOT this specific watch) bore dials commissioned with a unique Panama Canal insignia in place of the usual text in the lower half and were then presented to the Canal pilots, to celebrate its passing from the United States of America to Panama.

£6,999 Stock number: 82-43-007FANTASTIC VALUE ! Stainless steel Rolex Submariner non-date model 14060M with black “two-line” dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This 2001 model is one of the earliest 14060s with the “M” suffix, denoting the presence of the 3130 calibre movement, but not yet marked as a chronometer on the dial. It is in very good order with only moderate signs of age and wear to the bezel insert. The glass is generic (not by Rolex), but does appear to be a high quality part. Comes with Rolex boxes, Submariner booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. This 1986 model with original BARK finish to bezel and bracelet is in very pleasing condition. It shows surprisingly little sign of wear to the bracelet, just a small bump on the underside of a link near the 12 o’clock end, where it cannot be seen once on the wrist, and we note that a generic glass (not by Rolex) has been fitted. It has just enjoyed a full, £700 movement overhaul through a Rolex main agent’s in-house service facility in August 2024. This is a fine-looking watch but there are signs of general wear, especially in the bracelet, which are fully reflected in this keen price. The new equivalent is now £10,500 !

This is a lovely example of the unusual “sports Rolex” for ladies, although we do note moderate wear to the bracelet and that it is fitted with a generic glass (not from Rolex). Comes with Rolex boxes, Yachtmaster booklet, numbered green swing-tag and UK papers from David M. Robinson dated December 2003. The last NEW RRP shown for this model was £7,050 — but that was about seven years ago and new prices generally have increased substantially since then. This is the latest 36mm model with both boxes, Datejust booklet, both swing-tags and UK warranty card from The Watches of Switzerland Group (specifically their Rolex boutique at Heathrow Airport) dated August 2020. The NEW RRP is now £9,450 but supply still seems weak in the UK. Clearly if you can find a new one at RRP then you might wish to buy that instead – but good luck finding one ! £7,499 Stock number: 50-79-063Colourful variant, no longer offered by Rolex ! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400GV on Oyster 72400 bracelet with black / index dial, orange “lightning bolt” seconds hand / quarter markers and green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass. Has Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card dated September 2009. In excellent condition, although we do note very minor, superficial wear to the glass. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over 15 years ago but this last version with its striking green glass was especially popular. When it last appeared in UK price lists the NEW RRP was £7,850, but like many of the more unusual steel Professional models, it was usually a very hard watch to source at main agents. Interest has only increased now production seems to have stopped.

£4,999 Stock number: 52-80-02434mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual DATE model 115200 with bright white / index baton dial on Oyster 72190 bracelet. This 2007 model comes with Rolex boxes, Oyster Perpetual DATE booklet, red swing-tag, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. In fine condition with negligible wear to the glass. This model is no longer made, but even the smaller Datejust 31 now has a NEW price of £6,100.
