Stainless steel Rolex Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA D-Blue (the so-called “James Cameron”) model 126660 with distinctive, graduated blue-black / green text dial, on Oyster Glidelock 98220 bracelet. The model remains very popular and was always hard to source new in the UK. Comes with original boxes, DeepSea booklet, both swing-tags and international Rolex warranty card dated February 2021. Under close inspection there are signs of age / wear including to the bezel, bezel pip, glass and dial, but these are fully reflected in the bargain price, the bracelet is superb and general appearance very good. The new equivalent is now £12,770 – but apparent lack of supply will mean that this should endure as a desirable piece.

This enormous watch was designed for professional divers, though many have been bought by those simply wishing to own one of the biggest or most over-engineered Rolexes ever made. Comes with Rolex boxes, DeepSea booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. These credit-card sized calendar cards were supplied with new Rolex watches for many years. Each card covers a two-year period, i.e. 1995-1996, 1996-1997 etc. Miltons have acquired a limited stock of excellent examples priced from £19 depending on stock, rarity and condition of the specific card required.

We have a surplus of this type of Rolex boxes, which were supplied with new Rolex watches from around 2004-2014.
SMALL and MEDIUM sizes are available, usually referred to as ref 30.00.xx, 39137.xx or “Samoa” and ref 31.00.xx, 39139.xx or “Moorea” respectively.
Boxes from c.2004-2010 came with a solid, oval watch cushion that was not well suited to ladies’ watches with short bracelets.
Boxes from c.2010-2014 came with a squashy “E”-shape cushion that would hold most watches comfortably.
Each box or set will be priced individually to reflect condition, completeness etc and sold as it is.
We will not swap parts from one box or set to another.
Rolex main agents often grabbed the first box that came to hand when selling a watch, but steel watches were commonly intended to come in smaller boxes / bicolour watches in medium.

Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 model 126600 with red text on the dial that is unique to this version, on Oyster Glidelock 97220 bracelet. Comes with both boxes, SeaDweller booklet, both swing-tags and international Rolex warranty card from Hong Kong dated February 2019. The 43mm model, launched after 50 years of the Sea-Dweller line (hence the SD43 / SD50 names variously given to it by fans), is one of many steel Professional models that remains difficult to source. The NEW RRP is now £11,750 . . . but you may find it hard to find one.

£13,999 Stock number: 12-52-009One of the most wearable vintage Sea-Dwellers available! Stainless steel Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 from around 1975 with 408xxxx case number and straight “ROLEX” text across the case-back. Yes, those in the know will realise that the case number and case-back style prove that this watch was originally an even more highly desirable “Double Red” Sea-Dweller, but in 2004 it was serviced by Rolex UK who fitted this new “Great White” service replacement dial with Luminova markers. They also appear to have fitted a new Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet with 585 end-links (its “S DT4” clasp code identifying it as a service part, manufactured in April 2002). The main 1665 case and 1665 case-back both show the same, matching 408xxxx case number in full. It has a Rolex 1575 calibre movement, the bridge marked 1570 as normal, and its unique movement number D952xxx is shown in the photo-essay linked below. The movement is running well, testing on average to be + 4 seconds per day in July 2023, although this will vary slightly depending on the individual wearer. Its case, bracelet, crown and glass are in excellent condition, the case numbering is crisp and clear, the bezel insert is is excellent and the bezel rim is very good – we note a small bump on its inner rim, near the 3 minute marker. The watch appears to have had little wear after the 2004 service by Rolex and since April 2016 has simply sat in one of the Miltons’ safes! Offered with a period-correct Rolex box (ref 67.00.03), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It is interesting to note that the case numbers of this batch of 1665s appear to sit adjacent to a batch of rare Submariner 5514s made for the French diving company COMEX. While we might have preferred that it retained its original and much more valuable dial, this watch in its refurbished form and with the extremely good bracelet offers much of the charm of a vintage Sea-Dweller combined with the smart look and wearable nature of a later model. Please note that while we have successfully tested water resistance for normal use including recreational swimming etc, we would advise that more extensive pressure testing be carried out before any significant underwater diving is considered.
Our extensive research and record-keeping over many years leads us to conclude that Sea-Dweller 1665s featured the word “ROLEX” written straight across the case back on all watches with case numbers below c. 520xxxx, after which “ROLEX” was written in a conspicuously curved style. That same research allows us to determine that Double Red dials were fitted in Sea-Dweller 1665s until at least the high 529xxxx range of case numbers, after which they fitted dials with text all in white. £25 Stock number: Misc.PT 114864GENUINE ROLEX service / storage / travel pouch with folding press-stud flap and simple green watch-holder insert. Each is approx 12cm x 6.5cm when closed and is suitable for holding a single example of most models in the Rolex range. For a number of years these green pouches were provided by the service division of Rolex UK when they returned a watch to its owner. Many owners now use them as smart travel or storage pouches. They are pre-owned, but many have simply been in our stores since they came with a watch from Rolex. The price quoted is for a single pouch and we anticipate having a small number available from which clients may choose. £39 Stock number: Misc. PT 114864Gent’s genuine Rolex wallet in green leather with reference 0068.08.34 printed in discrete gold-coloured foil inside one of the pockets. This is a slim, folding wallet of approx 144mm x 105mm when closed. Has reinforced corners and Rolex coronet branding to front. These wallets were supplied with gents’ and professional / sports models around the millennium. English bank notes did not fit them at the time and so many were never used, but the latest generation of £5 and £10 notes and credit cards do now fit as illustrated. It is not suitable for coins, or £20 / £50 notes. We have a small stock of these wallets available at both our Chester and Liverpool (St. John’s) stores.
