£7,199 Stock number: 52-49-004GREAT VALUE ! Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 with black bezel insert and “SWISS MADE” dial on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This A73xxxx case number watch from around 1999 is in very pleasing condition, although we do note some very minor marks to the bezel. It comes with Submariner booklet, later Rolex boxes, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The larger, NEW equivalent is now £9,000 (if you can find one….) but the earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right. Those interested in Rolex trivia may like to note that this watch’s case number suggests it was made in the same batch of 16610s from which a small number of special “Panama Canal” watches were drawn. Those Submariners (and, for the avoidance of doubt, NOT this specific watch) bore dials commissioned with a unique Panama Canal insignia in place of the usual text in the lower half and were then presented to the Canal pilots, to celebrate its passing from the United States of America to Panama.

£6,999 Stock number: 82-43-007FANTASTIC VALUE ! Stainless steel Rolex Submariner non-date model 14060M with black “two-line” dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This 2001 model is one of the earliest 14060s with the “M” suffix, denoting the presence of the 3130 calibre movement, but not yet marked as a chronometer on the dial. It is in very good order with only moderate signs of age and wear to the bezel insert. The glass is generic (not by Rolex), but does appear to be a high quality part. Comes with Rolex boxes, Submariner booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The new, fatter, ceramic bezel version now has an RRP of £8,050 but these earlier models have an appeal and market of their own. Available from Miltons of Church Street, Liverpool city centre.

£9,699 Stock number: 52-63-010Bought from a private collection : an UNWORN example of this discontinued model from 2005, still with delivery sticker on case-back! A classic “two-line” Rolex Submariner with box and UK papers ! Stainless steel Rolex non-date Submariner model 14060M with black dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This D-case number watch has the classic dial with “two-line” text (no mention of chronometer status) and blank inner rehaut (whereas later watches had more text on the dial and the rehaut was engraved). It is in mint condition, having come from an extensive collector’s safe, unworn and with only superficial indications that the bracelet has been removed to check the case number. It comes with Rolex boxes, Submariner booklet and UK papers card from John Pass the Jeweller in Crewe dated December 2005. In recent years buyers have shown their appreciation for the proportions and value of this earlier generation of Rolex sports models. We are selling it at a premium to the list price of the fatter, new equivalent which is now £8,050 — if only you could find one. This watch attracts collector interest, especially in such condition.

This G32xxxx case number watch with four-line “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” text and numbered inner rehaut is one of the last examples of what has in recent years become an extremely desirable model. £15,999 Stock number: 12-26-002A British Army helicopter pilot’s watch : vintage Rolex 1680 Submariner Date with Mark 2 dial, box & papers! Stainless steel Rolex Submariner Date model 1680 with 6152xxx case number, its original dial being in simply outstanding condition. First purchased by Captain “P” in Singapore during December 1980, this watch retains its original punched papers, plastic document wallet bearing a sticker with the watch’s faded case number on it, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet with 1980 print-code, Rolex 68.00.2 box with slotted card interior and “Création Genève” motif inside the lid, a Rolex UK service card dated June 2002 and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. In early 2014 the watch was taken to a Rolex main agent who knew to direct the watch to us, and Miltons (Liverpool) Ltd bought it in February 2014. It lived thereafter unworn in our safes until April 2023 when we sent it to Steven Hale Watch Restoration Limited, a fully accredited Rolex watch-maker and one of the UK’s leading vintage specialists. The watch enjoyed £1,536 worth of work including a full movement service and the fitting of new glass, auto-drive wheel, rotor axle, reversers and barrel, while the paint on the hands was also restored. The black bezel insert was replaced previously and has what we believe to be a Luminova variant “pip.” The Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet with 501 B end-links has a “PJ11″ clasp code, indicating that this, too, is a replacement part from Rolex, probably not fitted earlier than 2009. The watch has a Rolex 1575 calibre movement, the bridge marked 1570 as normal, its unique movement number D856389 shown in the photo-essay linked below. The movement is running well, testing within chronometer tolerance in September 2023, although this will vary slightly depending on the individual wearer. Its case, bracelet and crown are in very good condition but we have not refinished them, allowing them to keep the character reflecting the working life the watch has led, serving Captain P as a military pilot and then with his own helicopter charter company. The case numbering is crisp and clear, the bezel insert is excellent and the bezel rim is very good. A photo-essay of this watch with many more photographs is available by clicking here .
Please note that while we have successfully tested water resistance for normal use including recreational swimming etc, we would advise that more extensive pressure testing be carried out before any significant underwater diving is considered. Many collectors of such vintage Rolex where the dial is a key part of the value wisely choose NOT to swim in them, as a simple mistake in securing the crown or any subsequent and unrecognised deterioration in sealing could see water enter the case, damage the dial and destroy significant value. If you want to emulate Captain “P” and take it up in your helicopter, go for it !

£10,399 Stock number: 12-61-004Vintage Submariner, FRESH FROM SPECIALIST ROLEX SERVICE by Steven Hale Watch Restoration Ltd. Stainless steel Rolex Submariner model 5513 manufactured around 1984 with 8673xxx case number. The watch features a “SWISS-T<25” tritium dial with white metal surrounds to the hour markers. These dials were introduced on new watches around the time this watch was made, but then also used as service replacement dials for any 5513s which needed them. Codes inside the case-back suggest that this watch was serviced by Rolex UK in Summer 1989 and early 1996. Miltons (Liverpool) Ltd bought the watch in January 2017 and in Summer 2023 sent it to Stephen Hale, a fully accredited Rolex watch-maker and one of the UK’s leading vintage specialists. The watch enjoyed £1,500 worth of work including a full service and the fitting of new tube gaskets, plexi glass, 4th wheel, auto-drive, rotor axle and black bezel insert (with what we believe to be a Luminova variant “pip”), while the luminous material on the hands was also restored. The Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet with 580 end-links has an “S X11” clasp code, suggesting that is a replacement service part that was fitted around the millennium. The rest of the bracelet shows some signs of age and wear, but this generation of Oysters was substantial and it has many years of reasonable wear left. It has a Rolex 1520 calibre movement which is running very well after service, although it will vary slightly depending on the individual wearer. Its new glass and bezel insert are of course in perfect condition having just been replaced. The case, crown and bezel rim are in very good condition, while the case numbering is crisp and clear. Comes with period-correct Rolex 67.00.08 box-set and 1987 English Submariner instruction booklet (themselves being accessories of some value!), our own warranty card, a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them and a copy of the invoice from SHWR listing all work carried out. £25 Stock number: Misc.PT 114864GENUINE ROLEX service / storage / travel pouch with folding press-stud flap and simple green watch-holder insert. Each is approx 12cm x 6.5cm when closed and is suitable for holding a single example of most models in the Rolex range. For a number of years these green pouches were provided by the service division of Rolex UK when they returned a watch to its owner. Many owners now use them as smart travel or storage pouches. They are pre-owned, but many have simply been in our stores since they came with a watch from Rolex. The price quoted is for a single pouch and we anticipate having a small number available from which clients may choose. £39 Stock number: Misc. PT 114864Gent’s genuine Rolex wallet in green leather with reference 0068.08.34 printed in discrete gold-coloured foil inside one of the pockets. This is a slim, folding wallet of approx 144mm x 105mm when closed. Has reinforced corners and Rolex coronet branding to front. These wallets were supplied with gents’ and professional / sports models around the millennium. English bank notes did not fit them at the time and so many were never used, but the latest generation of £5 and £10 notes and credit cards do now fit as illustrated. It is not suitable for coins, or £20 / £50 notes. We have a small stock of these wallets available at both our Chester and Liverpool (St. John’s) stores. £12,499 Stock number: 52-53-003Serviced by Rolex in November 2017 – a very desirable “Kermit” 16610 LV from 2006 with boxes, tags, UK papers and more! Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 T / LV with Mark IV maxi dial and green “slim 4” / “thin 4” bezel insert. This is a D6xxxxx case-number watch in excellent condition with both boxes in delivery sleeve, Submariner booklet, both swing-tags (the green one’s sticker specifying that it is a 16610LV), delivery bezel protector, original UK papers dated April 2006 and a Rolex UK service card dated November 2017, again specifying that it is a 16610LV. The original owner paid £475 for a full service through a main agent at that time. Correctly, this version has a plain, un-numbered inner rehaut. It is in excellent condition with perfect glass, excellent bracelet and only the very lightest of marks on the bezel insert. There is a fatter, new equivalent model made by Rolex, though usually not available without a huge premium now. The older models have been increasingly sought after since they were discontinued some years ago and have proved enduringly collectible.

£19,999 Stock number: 82-69-00118ct yellow gold Rolex Submariner Date model 16618 with blue “SWISS MADE” dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 92908A bracelet. This 1999 model watch comes with its Submariner booklet, a later Rolex box-set, red chronometer swing-tag, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The bracelet is in outstanding condition and there is only superficial wear to the bezel insert. We do note that the glass is a generic replacement, not by Rolex. The NEW equivalent is now £34,200 !
