As with the Daytona, it seems that a Rolex with complicated functions can prove exceptionally popular. This bicolour model was launched only in 2017 and remains current. We believe that this particular watch is from 2018. Comes with both Rolex boxes, Sky-Dweller booklet and Rolex UK service card dated August 2022 when it had a full movement overhaul and new glass fitted. The watch is in very fine condition but there are some superficial marks on the highly-polished bezel. 36mm stainless steel and white metal Rolex Datejust TURN-O-GRAPH model 116264 on Jubilee 63200 bracelet with bright white / baton dial. Comes with Rolex boxes, correct Datejust booklet, red swing-tag and UK papers from John Pass the Jewellers in Crewe dated January 2006. A new equivalent was last listed in Rolex UK’s 2016 price list at £6,000 – but production ceased some years ago, since when there have been significant price rises across the rest of the range and increasing interest in this model. Red detail to the dial text, seconds hand and date display are distinctive on the modern Turn-o-Graph. Please note that while it features a time-lapse bezel, the Turn-o-Graph remains essentially a dress watch. £8,299 Stock number: 52-33-018COMPROMISED / RE-NUMBERED Rolex GMT-Master, priced accordingly and sold with full disclosure. Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master, 3175-calibre model 16700 with black “SWISS” dial and “Pepsi” blue and red bezel insert on Jubilee bracelet. We identified this watch as having previously had its original case number (located between the lugs at the six o'clock end) erased and then probably a different case number applied in its place. Accordingly, we sent it to Rolex UK to see if they could confirm our thoughts and the watch's original identity. They identified it as a ROLEX GMT-MASTER…Model 16700….Bracelet Jubilee 62510 20…with Dial 16758 BLAC HMK W but otherwise commented “Serial No. MODIFIED” and “…this watch has been heavily modified. We are unable to offer service facilities to modified models and therefore return the watch in the condition that it was received.“ We believe this supports our own findings. It appears that they did not link it to any watch reported stolen or lost, which might have been identified from the movement number. It could well be, then, that the watch was renumbered either in a clumsy attempt to clarify the original number which had been scratched or damaged in some way, or perhaps the number was changed only to make it appear to correspond with the set of papers accompanying it, in an attempt to add value (which we have seen many times). After Rolex's response, there now appears to be no way of establishing its original identity. The Rolex papers are dated 1997 and belonged to a watch supplied in Corfu, but that may well be no indication of this watch's history if they do not truly belong with it. The watch may have been supplied in any country and at any time between around 1988 and the year 2000. The bracelet appears to be in excellent order and may have been swapped, but the clasp itself bears a date code suggesting that part at least is from the start of the model's production date range. The watch comes with an English language Rolex GMT-Master booklet from 1999, later Rolex boxes, Rolex COSC certificate # T356182 (which must be seen in context and in no way supporting or necessarily associated with this watch) and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that the case number currently applied, at least, has been checked with them. Jubilee bracelets with 502 B end-links like this were a rare but standard option on GMT-Master 16700s. They commonly suffered the effects of wear more than the Oyster variants, although this one appears to be in very good order. We would not wish any subsequent buyer to pay for this watch in the future without realising its full nature, so we publish here its current (if spurious) case number T356182 and movement number 3 8104222 for the record, together with this extensive narrative. We have marked the papers to show that they accompany a renumbered watch. Its 16700 case-back also bears the Rolex service rejection marking LON 11/20 264329XX which corresponds with the paperwork received from them. Rolex UK will not provide service or parts for a watch in these circumstances, so both must be obtained from independent watchmakers if required. It is running within specification at the moment and comes with our usual two year warranty. We feel the watch offers good value at this price (heavily discounted from that of a similar, correct watch), but would like to ensure that any buyer fully understands all that they need to. £15,999 Stock number: 62-53-002Collectible “STICK dial / Pepsi” GMT-Master II, first sold new in 2006 by one of our own Watch Team, when he was the manager at a Rolex main agent! Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16710 T with black “SWISS MADE” dial, perfect blue / red bezel insert and Oysterlock 78790A bracelet. This superb D907xxx case-number watch with 3185 calibre movement is from the last few years of production and comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, both swing-tags and UK papers from Pyke & Sons in Birkenhead dated July 2006. The green swing-tag denotes that it is a 16710BLRO, which means it had a red and blue bezel from new when it left the Rolex factory. In excellent condition – it still even has the aged delivery sticker on its case-back! Please note that it has the desirable “stick” dial, where the number “II” after GMT-Master is denoted by two straight lines rather than a serif-ed or roman style of numeral. A close-up of that detail may be viewed by clicking through the main picture. The “stick” dials have been a cause of much speculation, but we have been able conclusively to dismiss the connection between such dials and the presence of 3185 / 3186 calibres respectively. The fatter, NEW equivalent GMT-Master is now £8,400 (if only you could buy one at RRP!) but this earlier, less bulky and arguably more interesting model has an army of followers who have chased prices ever higher since it was discontinued. £9,499 Stock number: 52-53-011Discontinued and collectible! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with black / index baton dial having orange detail and “lightning” seconds hand, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. In superb condition with both boxes, Milgauss booklet and UK warranty card from David M. Robinson dated October 2011. The first Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part in the form of the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland but has since won desirability in its own right. This watch is one of the newer versions launched at Basel in 2007. Many clients love the modern Milgauss simply for being such a big watch, with its attractive, clear dial options and funky colour accents. This specific variant is itself no longer in production and like many such Professional series watches has a market all of its own.

Its original “DATE” dial has been replaced at some point by a genuine (but incorrect for this watch) black / baton DATEJUST SCOC dial that was intended for a later model. This circa 1980 model correctly bears a Rolex 2035 calibre movement and as such does not have the “quick-set” feature, which would allow easier correction of the date at the end of a short month. Unusually, it has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don't as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. In excellent condition but we do note that the glass is a generic replacement, not by Rolex. £13,999 Stock number: 50-52-040Stunning watch that would look superb on the wrist of a lady or a gentleman! 31mm / mid-size Rolex Datejust model 178248 in 18ct yellow gold with gorgeous, original Rolex white mother of pearl / diamond dot dial on Oyster 73168 bracelet. The watch has also been fitted previously with a custom-made diamond-set bezel and generic glass which are NOT by Rolex. As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such individual parts on customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one already fitted like this there always seems to be a queue of buyers! This watch has a random case number which means it cannot be older than 2010, although its excellent condition suggests it may be considerably more recent. The nearest NEW equivalent (fitted with President bracelet and plain, fluted gold bezel) is now £25,400!

Stainless steel and white metal Rolex Datejust 36, model 126234 on Oyster 72800 / articulated clasp bracelet with recently-introduced purple “aubergine” / roman numeral dial with diamond detail at VI and IX. Such colourful and modern dials have been extremely desirable in recent times. This is the latest 36mm model with both boxes, Datejust booklet, green swing-tag and Rolex warranty card dated September 2021. The NEW RRP is now £8,850 but this is one of many specifications which have been increasingly hard to find in the UK, so we are selling it at a premium. Clearly if you can find a new one at RRP then you might wish to buy that instead – but good luck finding one!

£1,199 Stock number: 50-17-01632mm Cartier Chronoscaph 21 quartz, case reference 2996 with cream / silver dial. Shows moderate signs of age and general wear, but most noticeable is the hybrid steel / resin strap which is dull and slightly grey from wear, despite cleaning. Our keen price reflects the condition (and in case you are wondering, a replacement strap is surprisingly expensive). Comes with a must de Cartier box, instruction booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. As a chronograph with simple push-pieces (the stopwatch buttons), we recommend that it should not be considered water-resistant.

£14,999 Stock number: 52-52-00236mm Rolex Day-Date model 18238 in 18ct yellow gold on President 8385 bracelet with sparkling silver / diamond dot dial in the older style (around this time, Rolex moved to a heavier style of diamond setting). In very good condition, this watch comes with large “luggage-style” Rolex box, correct Day-Date booklet (itself now increasingly valuable!), numbered green swing-tag, original UK papers from Goldsmiths dated February 1996 and a Rolex UK service card dated November 2018. The 18238 with its 3155 calibre movement was the first model to feature the double quick-set feature for easy, independent alteration of the Day and Date. The NEW equivalent is now £29,700!
