The watch has also been fitted previously with a custom-made diamond-set bezel and generic glass which are NOT by Rolex. As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such individual parts on customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one already fitted like this there always seems to be a queue of buyers! The original watch is a 2007 model and comes with Rolex box, Datejust booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. £9,299 Stock number: 72-54-004Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 with black bezel insert and “SWISS MADE” dial on a NEW, stickered Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet! It comes with both boxes, Submariner booklet and UK papers from Goldsmiths dated November 2001. The watch head is in very good condition with only minor signs of wear to glass and bezel insert, but we have fitted a NEW Rolex bracelet supplied through a Rolex main agent*. The larger, NEW equivalent Submariner is now £8,450 (if you can find one….) but the earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right. * When new, this K31xxxx case number Submariner could have been fitted with either the 93150 or 93250 version of the Oyster Fliplock bracelet and indeed more commonly the latter by November 2001. There was something of a transitional period, but as it is a 16610 with pierced lugs we chose to fit it with the 93150 bracelet which may thus be considered appropriate, the solid end link 93250 more commonly being seen on the 16610 T which had solid lugs.

The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over a decade ago but remain very popular. Like many of the more unusual Professional Rolex models in stainless steel, this can be a hard watch to find at main agents if you’re trying to find one. Nicknamed the “Bruiser” or “Batman” GMT by fans because of its distinctive bezel colours, this watch remains in excellent condition. It comes with both Rolex boxes, GMT-Master II booklet and international Rolex warranty card dated October 2017. This model itself was released in 2013 but its exceptional popularity and limited supply mean that it attracts a significant premium over the last new RRP and even that of its replacement, the 126710BLNR.

We believe that this particular watch is from 2018. Comes with both Rolex boxes, Sky-Dweller booklet and Rolex UK service card dated August 2022 when it had a full movement overhaul and new glass fitted. The watch is in very fine condition but there are some superficial marks on the highly-polished bezel. 36mm stainless steel and white metal Rolex Datejust TURN-O-GRAPH model 116264 on Jubilee 63200 bracelet with bright white / baton dial. Comes with Rolex boxes, correct Datejust booklet, red swing-tag and UK papers from John Pass the Jewellers in Crewe dated January 2006. A new equivalent was last listed in Rolex UK's 2016 price list at £6,000 – but production ceased some years ago, since when there have been significant price rises across the rest of the range and increasing interest in this model. Red detail to the dial text, seconds hand and date display are distinctive on the modern Turn-o-Graph. Please note that while it features a time-lapse bezel, the Turn-o-Graph remains essentially a dress watch. This 4161 calibre model has both boxes, Yachtmaster II booklet, both swing-tags and international Rolex warranty card dated July 2021. It is the revised model with triangle at 12 and “Mercedes” hands, rather than the plainer dial and blue hands of earlier examples. This is a complicated watch but happily it retains the valuable instruction booklet. Rolex also provide a video guide on their website, which we can locate for you if required. £8,299 Stock number: 52-33-018COMPROMISED / RE-NUMBERED Rolex GMT-Master, priced accordingly and sold with full disclosure. Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master, 3175-calibre model 16700 with black “SWISS” dial and “Pepsi” blue and red bezel insert on Jubilee bracelet. We identified this watch as having previously had its original case number (located between the lugs at the six o'clock end) erased and then probably a different case number applied in its place. Accordingly, we sent it to Rolex UK to see if they could confirm our thoughts and the watch's original identity. They identified it as a ROLEX GMT-MASTER…Model 16700….Bracelet Jubilee 62510 20…with Dial 16758 BLAC HMK W but otherwise commented “Serial No. MODIFIED” and “…this watch has been heavily modified. We are unable to offer service facilities to modified models and therefore return the watch in the condition that it was received.“ We believe this supports our own findings. It appears that they did not link it to any watch reported stolen or lost, which might have been identified from the movement number. It could well be, then, that the watch was renumbered either in a clumsy attempt to clarify the original number which had been scratched or damaged in some way, or perhaps the number was changed only to make it appear to correspond with the set of papers accompanying it, in an attempt to add value (which we have seen many times). After Rolex's response, there now appears to be no way of establishing its original identity. The Rolex papers are dated 1997 and belonged to a watch supplied in Corfu, but that may well be no indication of this watch's history if they do not truly belong with it. The watch may have been supplied in any country and at any time between around 1988 and the year 2000. The bracelet appears to be in excellent order and may have been swapped, but the clasp itself bears a date code suggesting that part at least is from the start of the model's production date range. The watch comes with an English language Rolex GMT-Master booklet from 1999, later Rolex boxes, Rolex COSC certificate # T356182 (which must be seen in context and in no way supporting or necessarily associated with this watch) and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that the case number currently applied, at least, has been checked with them. Jubilee bracelets with 502 B end-links like this were a rare but standard option on GMT-Master 16700s. They commonly suffered the effects of wear more than the Oyster variants, although this one appears to be in very good order. We would not wish any subsequent buyer to pay for this watch in the future without realising its full nature, so we publish here its current (if spurious) case number T356182 and movement number 3 8104222 for the record, together with this extensive narrative. We have marked the papers to show that they accompany a renumbered watch. Its 16700 case-back also bears the Rolex service rejection marking LON 11/20 264329XX which corresponds with the paperwork received from them. Rolex UK will not provide service or parts for a watch in these circumstances, so both must be obtained from independent watchmakers if required. It is running within specification at the moment and comes with our usual two year warranty. We feel the watch offers good value at this price (heavily discounted from that of a similar, correct watch), but would like to ensure that any buyer fully understands all that they need to. To change the date on this 1520-calibre model, one simply advances the main hands forwards or backwards past midnight. Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16710 T with black “SWISS MADE” dial, perfect blue / red bezel insert and Oysterlock 78790A bracelet. This superb D907xxx case-number watch with 3185 calibre movement is from the last few years of production and comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, both swing-tags and UK papers from Pyke & Sons in Birkenhead dated July 2006. The green swing-tag denotes that it is a 16710BLRO, which means it had a red and blue bezel from new when it left the Rolex factory. In excellent condition – it still even has the aged delivery sticker on its case-back! Please note that it has the desirable “stick” dial, where the number “II” after GMT-Master is denoted by two straight lines rather than a serif-ed or roman style of numeral. A close-up of that detail may be viewed by clicking through the main picture. The “stick” dials have been a cause of much speculation, but we have been able conclusively to dismiss the connection between such dials and the presence of 3185 / 3186 calibres respectively. The fatter, NEW equivalent GMT-Master is now £8,400 (if only you could buy one at RRP!) but this earlier, less bulky and arguably more interesting model has an army of followers who have chased prices ever higher since it was discontinued. £9,499 Stock number: 52-53-011Discontinued and collectible! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with black / index baton dial having orange detail and “lightning” seconds hand, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. In superb condition with both boxes, Milgauss booklet and UK warranty card from David M. Robinson dated October 2011. The first Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part in the form of the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland but has since won desirability in its own right. This watch is one of the newer versions launched at Basel in 2007. Many clients love the modern Milgauss simply for being such a big watch, with its attractive, clear dial options and funky colour accents. This specific variant is itself no longer in production and like many such Professional series watches has a market all of its own.

£2,699 Stock number: 52-51-04426mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual DATE in stainless steel and white metal, model 6917(4) on Jubilee 62510 bracelet. Its original “DATE” dial has been replaced at some point by a genuine (but incorrect for this watch) black / baton DATEJUST SCOC dial that was intended for a later model. This circa 1980 model correctly bears a Rolex 2035 calibre movement and as such does not have the “quick-set” feature, which would allow easier correction of the date at the end of a short month. Unusually, it has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don't as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. It comes with a Rolex box (the cushion inside is a generic replacement), original vintage YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The NEW equivalent is now £6,400!
