Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 model 126600 with red text on the dial that is unique to this version, on Oyster Glidelock 97220 bracelet. Comes with original boxes, SeaDweller booklet, both swing-tags and UK warranty card from Prestons dated July 2020. The 43mm model, launched after 50 years of the Sea-Dweller line (hence the SD43 / SD50 names variously given to it by fans), is one of many steel Professional models that remains difficult to source, so we are selling it at a small premium to the NEW list price. Miltons have built a commercial reputation for selling a fine selection of modern, pre-owned Rolex, but our Watch Team’s specialist knowledge and interest extends to vintage Rolex ( click here for more details.) For some years the international specialist collector / dealer communities have seen glimpses of rare treasures that the various Miltons companies have negotiated to buy or take in part-exchange from other collectors, private sellers, former professional divers, other jewellers, auction houses, estates and so on. Our intention is to start actively marketing those of which we have most examples at the more reasonable range of value — so you might expect to see 5513 and 1680 Submariners, 1675 GMT-Masters, Explorer II 1655, Explorer 1016 and similar watches, which we hope to roll out from mid-2023 as they are readied for sale. We are currently having a number of watches serviced by a major and well-known Approved (and vintage specialist) Rolex watch-maker in preparation for sale.

Stainless steel Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 model 116600 with black dial and ceramic bezel insert on Oyster Glidelock 97400 bracelet. Comes with both boxes, Sea-Dweller 4000 booklet, both swing-tags, UK warranty card from Aurum Group (Goldsmiths etc) and Rolex UK service card dated January 2023. Rolex fans were delighted when the company re-introduced an SD4000 into the range, after the bulk of the DeepSea 116660 version had put off so many ordinary buyers. The more practical size of this model, the lack of a sometimes-annoying “cyclops” magnifying lens and 60-minute marked bezel (a nod to Rolex’s military past) were instant hits. The NEW equivalent is now £11,150 (if you could find one….), but these discontinued models have a market all of their own.

This beautiful watch with ETA-based / Tudor rotor movement appears barely to have been worn. After careful examination, all that we can find on which to comment is some minor spotting on the hands and a tiny mark on the lower edge of the case, below 9 o'clock. It comes with original 75090 boxes, plastic document wallet, punched UK papers from Bowden & Sons in Plymouth dated September 1995 and translation leaflet. £14,999 Stock number: 52-61-004Interesting and collectible white gold Rolex! 36mm Rolex Day-Date model 18039 in 18ct white gold with grey-brown “ghost” / diamond dot dial on President 8385 bracelet. The “ghost” dials (usually pale colours with white text) have seen increased collector interest in recent years. In very good condition, this 1980s watch comes with large “luggage-style” Rolex box, correct Day-Date booklet (itself now increasingly valuable!), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. At considerable expense we have just fitted a number of new links direct from Rolex, but we do note that the dial is showing very slight signs of age and the glass is generic, NOT by Rolex. £4,999 Stock number: 52-40-019Vintage 26mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 18ct yellow gold, model 6916 with smart, silvery-gold colour / diamond dot dial on Jubilee 6251 bracelet. This late 1970s model is in very pleasing condition. It comes with later boxes and Your Rolex Oyster booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The watch has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. The bracelet shows some signs of its age, but with sensible wear it should have plenty of life in it yet. When one needs to change the date on this 2030-series calibre model, one simply advances the main hands forwards or backwards past midnight. The nearest NEW equivalent is now £23,600!

This G-series watch with four-line “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” text and numbered inner rehaut is one of the very last examples of what has in recent years become an extremely desirable model. Earlier versions did not feature the additional SCOC text on the dial. It is in excellent condition, having been serviced by Rolex UK in 2019 when a new glass was also fitted. Always popular, these Seamasters offer a lot of watch for the money when compared with similar Rolex models – and have themselves continued to increase in value for many years. This one is in excellent condition for its age, showing only light general wear. It comes with Omega boxes, instruction book, specification sheet and undated Omega warranty cards from David M. Robinson. Its case number suggests that it was manufactured around 1998 but the previous owner had a DMR receipt for it dated April 2005.

This 1997 model with T84xxxx case number is a fine example of what has in recent years become an extremely desirable model. It is in beautiful condition and comes with Rolex boxes, correct Submariner booklet and Rolex UK service card dated June 2022. The new, fatter, ceramic bezel version now has an RRP of £8,050 but it seems that the market increasingly appreciates the proportions and value of the previous generation of Rolex sports models, like our example. This watch dates from around the millennium but is in excellent condition, having spent much of its life as a “safe queen.” It comes with later, large Rolex boxes, Datejust booklet, red swing-tag, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The NEW RRP with a diamond dial was £24,650 when this rare model was last specified in Rolex UK’s 2016 price list — and prices generally have increased several times since then!
