Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 model 126600 with red text on the dial that is unique to this version, on Oyster Glidelock 97220 bracelet. Comes with original boxes, a SeaDweller 4000 booklet, green swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card from the famous jeweller Wempe dated July 2018. The 43mm model, launched after 50 years of the Sea-Dweller line (hence the SD43 / SD50 names variously given to it by fans), is one of many steel Professional models that are extremely difficult to source at the moment, so we had to pay and are in turn selling it at a premium to the NEW list price. £2,499 Stock number: 60-54-014Classic manual-wind Rolex Oyster from the late 1960s! Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Precision model 6426 with popular matt black / baton dial. This circa-1967 watch appears to have been up-graded with a new Oyster 78350 bracelet fitted around 1993, which would be consistent with a Rolex UK service denoted inside the case-back. It is in very pleasing condition, showing few signs of its age. The Oyster Precision is an entry-level model and it should be noted that (1) it needs to be manually wound each day and (2) we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. Comes with our own presentation box, warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. Always popular, these Seamasters offer a lot of watch for the money when compared with similar Rolex models – and have themselves continued to increase in value for many years. This one is in excellent condition for its age, showing only light general wear. It comes with Omega boxes, instruction book, specification sheet and undated Omega warranty cards from David M. Robinson. Its case number suggests that it was manufactured around 1998 but the previous owner had a DMR receipt for it dated April 2005.

£4,199 Stock number: 52-57-008Lovely vintage set! 36mm stainless steel Rolex Datejust model 16030 with bright white / baton dial on Jubilee 62510 bracelet. Comes with its Rolex 16030-stickered box set, UK papers from John Pass Jewellers in Crewe dated June 1986 in plastic pouch (with corresponding, numbered sticker) and a Rolex UK service slip dated July 2001. The watch is in very pleasing condition and appears to have had a new bracelet fitted, perhaps at the time of that Rolex service. Unusually, this watch has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance (as always, provided the crown is screwed down). This model correctly has the 3035 calibre version of the “quick-set” facility for changing the date at the end of a short month, where the user turns the crown backwards in its mid-position to advance the date. In excellent condition, it has Rolex boxes, Yachtmaster booklet and original papers from the famous jeweller Bucherer in Switzerland. These papers are dated February 2007, but the watch’s P68xxxx case number suggests it is from around 2001. It had probably been in stock at Bucherer for some years, as the lady’s Yachtmaster was at that time something of a slow seller. The NEW RRP was £18,000 when such a model was last specified in Rolex UK’s 2016 price list — and prices generally have increased several times since then! * When new, this K31xxxx case number Submariner could have been fitted with either the 93150 or 93250 version of the Oyster Fliplock bracelet and indeed more commonly the latter by November 2001. There was something of a transitional period, but as it is a 16610 with pierced lugs we chose to fit it with the 93150 bracelet which may thus be considered appropriate, the solid end link 93250 more commonly being seen on the 16610 T which had solid lugs.

This watch comes with large “luggage-style” Rolex box, correct Day-Date booklet (itself now increasingly valuable!) and original UK papers from Boodle & Dunthorne dated February 1995. £8,299 Stock number: 52-33-018COMPROMISED / RE-NUMBERED Rolex GMT-Master, priced accordingly and sold with full disclosure. Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master, 3175-calibre model 16700 with black “SWISS” dial and “Pepsi” blue and red bezel insert on Jubilee bracelet. We identified this watch as having previously had its original case number (located between the lugs at the six o'clock end) erased and then probably a different case number applied in its place. Accordingly, we sent it to Rolex UK to see if they could confirm our thoughts and the watch's original identity. They identified it as a ROLEX GMT-MASTER…Model 16700….Bracelet Jubilee 62510 20…with Dial 16758 BLAC HMK W but otherwise commented “Serial No. MODIFIED” and “…this watch has been heavily modified. We are unable to offer service facilities to modified models and therefore return the watch in the condition that it was received.“ We believe this supports our own findings. It appears that they did not link it to any watch reported stolen or lost, which might have been identified from the movement number. It could well be, then, that the watch was renumbered either in a clumsy attempt to clarify the original number which had been scratched or damaged in some way, or perhaps the number was changed only to make it appear to correspond with the set of papers accompanying it, in an attempt to add value (which we have seen many times). After Rolex's response, there now appears to be no way of establishing its original identity. The Rolex papers are dated 1997 and belonged to a watch supplied in Corfu, but that may well be no indication of this watch's history if they do not truly belong with it. The watch may have been supplied in any country and at any time between around 1988 and the year 2000. The bracelet appears to be in excellent order and may have been swapped, but the clasp itself bears a date code suggesting that part at least is from the start of the model's production date range. The watch comes with an English language Rolex GMT-Master booklet from 1999, later Rolex boxes, Rolex COSC certificate # T356182 (which must be seen in context and in no way supporting or necessarily associated with this watch) and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that the case number currently applied, at least, has been checked with them. Jubilee bracelets with 502 B end-links like this were a rare but standard option on GMT-Master 16700s. They commonly suffered the effects of wear more than the Oyster variants, although this one appears to be in very good order. We would not wish any subsequent buyer to pay for this watch in the future without realising its full nature, so we publish here its current (if spurious) case number T356182 and movement number 3 8104222 for the record, together with this extensive narrative. We have marked the papers to show that they accompany a renumbered watch. Its 16700 case-back also bears the Rolex service rejection marking LON 11/20 264329XX which corresponds with the paperwork received from them. Rolex UK will not provide service or parts for a watch in these circumstances, so both must be obtained from independent watchmakers if required. It is running within specification at the moment and comes with our usual two year warranty. We feel the watch offers good value at this price (heavily discounted from that of a similar, correct watch), but would like to ensure that any buyer fully understands all that they need to.
