Classic Rolex from c. 1987 ! 36mm bicolour Rolex Datejust model 16013 with silver / diamond dot dial on Jubilee 62523 bracelet. This 3035 calibre watch is in surprisingly nice condition for its age with only moderate wear to the bracelet. It has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. It comes with genuine Rolex 16013 box-set (itself increasingly rare!), Datejust booklet, COSC translation leaflet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them.     • 36mm bicolour Rolex Datejust model 116233 with sparkling champagne / diamond dot dial on Jubilee 63203 bracelet. Comes with Rolex boxes, Datejust booklet and UK papers from Mappin & Webb Group / Watches of Switzerland in Birmingham dated December 2005. A great-looking watch but we do note that a generic glass (NOT by Rolex) has been fitted. The bracelet also shows some wear. We feel it would be sensible to give it a gentler life from this point and recommend that this watch should be saved for dress wear only — and have priced it accordingly.
