Outstanding example! Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 T with black bezel insert and “SWISS MADE” dial on Oyster Fliplock 93250 bracelet. This Z87xxxx case number watch from around 2007 is in exceptional condition. It has spent much of its life in storage and indeed we know its history from when we first bought it, unworn in delivery stickers, twelve years ago (see narrative below). It comes with Rolex boxes, correct Submariner booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. Demand for such models in the steel Professional range may never have been greater. We are thus selling it at a premium to the NEW equivalent model’s RRP which is now £8,050 – if only you could find one!

This watch has something of an interesting history. In December 2010, Miltons spent £168,000 in a single day buying some 60 unworn, stickered Rolex watches including Sea Dwellers 16600s, stainless steel Date Submariner 16610s, Yachtmaster 16622s, Explorers 14270 / 114270 / 16570 and others. Oddly, all the watches lacked bracelets. A photograph of the watches that we won and the cover of the original auction catalogue may be viewed if you click through the main image. The story was that HMRC had intercepted these watches being smuggled into the UK in parts. Customs had seized the watch-heads and ultimately auctioned them off in a single sale to an audience of international dealers and private buyers in London. Miltons were the largest buyer by far and took home over a third of the entire sale. With the blessing of Rolex UK we were then able to purchase all the new, genuine bracelets required to make the watches complete…but for an additional £40,000+ !
