Discontinued and collectible! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with black / index baton dial having orange detail and “lightning” seconds hand, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. In superb condition with both boxes, Milgauss booklet and UK warranty card from David M. Robinson dated October 2011. The first Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part in the form of the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland but has since won desirability in its own right. This watch is one of the newer versions launched at Basel in 2007. Many clients love the modern Milgauss simply for being such a big watch, with its attractive, clear dial options and funky colour accents. This specific variant is itself no longer in production and like many such Professional series watches has a market all of its own.
