Daytona destruction! Who takes a good watch and messes about with it, such that it loses most of its inherent qualities and will now be almost unserviceable? We do not like the third-party, unofficial trade in “bespoke” pieces like this watch (originally a steel Rolex Daytona 116520), that seem designed for buyers with more money than sense or taste. The poor quality skeleton dial, failing bezel and generic rubber strap (not shown) all destroy value. Left alone, this watch might by now have been worth a five figure sum. Chopped apart and with inferior, non-Rolex parts added it will costs thousands to restore and its value in this form is a fraction of what it could have been.
