26mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust in 18ct yellow gold, model 6917 with smart, silvery / baton dial on President 8570 bracelet. This early 1980s model is in very pleasing condition and comes with later boxes, Oyster booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The bracelet shows some signs of its age, but with sensible wear it should have plenty of life in it yet. The watch has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. To change the date on this 2030-calibre model, one simply advances the main hands forwards or backwards past midnight. The nearest NEW equivalent is now £20,500!
