This 963xxxx case number watch was manufactured c.1986 and has a sales receipt from Zales in New Barnet dated November 1987, when it was bought by a former member of the Royal Australian Navy. It comes with original boxes, numbered green swing-tag, green plastic document wallet with corresponding sticker, an Oyster booklet and our own warranty card. This watch has the later dial with white gold surrounds to the indices, exhibiting a flat, slightly greying appearance from age. The NEW equivalent is now £5,700 but these older models have enjoyed very robust demand for many years.

£3,499 Stock number: 12-27-027Stainless steel Sea-Dweller model 16660 from the mid-1980s with black dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 93160 bracelet. It has the later dial with white gold surrounds to the luminous dots, but why is it so cheap ? We're selling this as a well-worn “beater,” a Rolex for everyday use which is already somewhat worn so that you don't mind getting further wear or cosmetic marking. The glass shows visible wear to the edge, the bezel is somewhat stiff and the worn bracelet appears to have had some repairs carried out by a third party, not Rolex. To be specific, the two end links are a more modern 93160A solid end link and a curious “592 Z” in the older style, while we believe the wet-suit extension part of the clasp not to be original. Mechanically the Rolex 3035 calibre movement is running well, testing close to perfect for us during April 2014. Sold with our own presentation box and warranty card.

£3,499 Stock number: 42-37-003Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 with bright white dial / orange indices and “lightning” seconds hand on Oyster 72400 bracelet. Complete with boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag & international warranty card dated May 2011, though the watch was in fact manufactured a couple of years earlier. This is an outstanding example! The original Milgauss was the model 6541 introduced back in 1956; subsequent models remained in production until 1988, albeit for the most part as the next-generation 1019 variant. It was designed as an especially anti-magnetic model for nuclear scientists near Rolex HQ in Switzerland but has since won desirability in its own right. This watch is one of the newer versions launched at Basel in 2007. Many clients love the Milgauss simply for being such a big watch, with its lovely, clear dial options and funky colour accents. As we often find with these, the M-serial watch case was most likely manufactured a couple of years before sale of the finished watch. It comes in excellent condition with only the slightest of marks on the glass. The Milgauss was designed as an anti-magnetic model for laboratory scientists but has since won desirability in its own right. This watch is one of the newer versions launched at Basel in 2007. For some people its pedigree is irrelevant; they just love the model’s large size and unusual colour accents. The NEW RRP is now £5,150.

£3,499 Stock number: 80-17-00241mm stainless steel Limited Edition James Bond 50th Anniversary Omega Seamaster Professional 300m Co-Axial automatic bracelet watch, model 212.30.41.20.01.005. Note the red “50” on the bezel, the 007 logo tessellated across the black dial and the rifled gun-barrel design to the case back. This holds a small sapphire display window that reveals a rotating “bullet” design to the rotor centre, whose “JAMES BOND 50 YEARS” text rotates when the watch is moved. This 2507 calibre model comes with extravagant 007 / Omega box set, instruction book, UK warranty card from the Omega Boutique at the Trafford Centre dated December 2012, the chronometer / limited series / pictogram cards, the numbered Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the original Omega specification sheet. The inner box can be baffling at first, but a drawer opens on the right hand side when operated by a push-release mechanism. The watch shows only slight signs of wear but (as is common) this includes some visible marks in the anti-reflective coating of the glass. This model was made in only 11,007 examples and celebrated fifty years of James Bond in the cinema, “Dr. No” having been released in 1962. This late 1980s model is in very good condition for its age but please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. It comes with our own presentation box, warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. This model correctly has the 3035 calibre version of the “quick-set” facility for changing the date at the end of a short month, where the user turns the crown backwards in its mid-position to advance the date. This late-1980s model was originally supplied on a President bracelet, but like many this had reached the end of its life and has been scrapped. We have now fitted the watch with a black leather strap and gold-plated pin-buckle, both genuine Rolex accessories and supplied by them. The watch has also been fitted previously with a custom-made diamond-set bezel which is NOT by Rolex. As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such individual parts on customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one already fitted like this there always seems to be a queue of buyers!
