£4,699 Stock number: 12-61-014Stainless steel Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 model 16600 with black dial and bezel insert, on Oyster Fliplock 93160 bracelet. This is a very early example with “pin-hole” lugs and an E3xxxxx case number suggesting manufacture circa 1990. In lovely condition, it comes with Rolex boxes, Sea-Dweller accessory wallet (ref 100.25.34) and a Rolex UK service card dated February 2014. We have added a later Submariner / Sea-Dweller booklet from 2003, which illustrates the key operations of the watch. This model has long been a collector’s favourite; the new, fatter-cased / ceramic bezel version now has an RRP of £7,600!

Three-colour 18ct gold Rolex “Tridor” mid-size Datejust model 68279B from the late 1980s on President 8289 bracelet, fitted with a later blue Jubilee / diamond dot dial! Now comes with a modern box, Datejust booklet and our own warranty card. Please note that a yellow crown has been fitted during service, but originally this will have been in white gold. The bracelet shows some signs of age / wear and is a small size, suitable for a slim gentleman or a lady to wear. £5,199 Stock number: 32-61-001Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16710 T with black dial and new red / blue bezel insert, on Oysterlock 78790A bracelet. This superb D939xxx case-number watch with 3185 calibre movement comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, red swing-tag and UK papers from Fraser Hart in Hendon dated February 2007. Please note that this watch has the desirable “rectangle II” dial, where the number “II” after GMT-Master is denoted by roman numerals with only slights serifs in the four corners. A close up picture of this element can be seen if you click on the image to the left, then on the relevant “thumbnail” on the single item screen*. An interesting discussion about these dials may be found on one our favourite websites, www.newturfers.com. Interest in these 16710 GMT-Masters IIs is at an all time high, led by those with 3186 calibres and the so-called “sticks” dials but all are proving exceptionally desirable. This watch is in generally excellent condition. The fatter, NEW equivalent GMT-Master II is now £6,200 but this earlier, less bulky and some would say more interesting model has an army of followers who have chased prices ever higher since it was discontinued.

This 1520 calibre model is in fine condition for its age; we note only that the dial lacquer shows an even, rainbow-lustre. The case back interior is stamped I.67, suggesting manufacture in the first quarter of 1967. Please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. This superb D877xxx case-number watch with 3185 calibre movement is from the last few years of production and comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, red swing-tag and UK papers from Goldsmiths in Bath dated August 2006. Please note that it has the desirable “stick” dial, where the number “II” after GMT-Master is denoted by two straight lines rather than a serif-ed or roman style of numeral. Service marks inside the case-back suggest that it enjoyed work by Rolex UK in February 2010. It is in generally excellent condition, our only comments being that under a 10x loupe one can just see some tiny marks on the dial and the case shows signs of previous refinishing. The fatter, NEW equivalent GMT-Master is now £6,200 but this earlier, less bulky and arguably more interesting model has an army of followers who have chased prices ever higher since it was discontinued. £1,899 Stock number: 12-18-004Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual DATE model 6919(0) with unusual RAF blue / roman numeral dial on Oyster 78340 bracelet. This 1983 model has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. To change the date on this model, one simply turns the hands forwards or backwards 24 hours. It is in lovely condition and comes with our own presentation box, warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The nearest NEW equivalent is now £5,250!

Contrary to the widely-held belief of a million wine-bar experts, for over twenty years Rolex DID make a quartz watch whose second hand TICKS rather than sweeps, as one might otherwise rightly expect of their mechanical watches. These Oysterquartz models are quite rare and their chunky looks are not to everyone's taste, but they have a following and this one is in very nice condition. It comes with a Rolex box-set and UK service slip from 2012, when we had it serviced and a new dial fitted at a cost of over £750. We like to warn prospective buyers just how LOUD the ticking sound always is on the Rolex 5035 quartz module.
