This beautiful watch has spent much of its short life in our safes and remains in outstanding condition. The electronic receipt from Beaverbrooks suggests that it was bought in March 2016, but the warranty card is dated March 2015. The current difference in price between a new gent’s Day-Date with a plain dial and one with a diamond dot dial is £2,450. To fit one retrospectively is normally much more expensive again! We can supply and fit one of the dials shown into your watch for £1,299 on an exchange basis (we retain the old dial, which must be in a saleable condition). The dial is suitable for models 18238, 18038, 18248, 18048, 18338… Please contact the Miltons watch team in the Liverpool St. John’s store for more details. Fitting will take a minimum of a week and does not include any element of service work, nor any appraisal or endorsement of the watch having the dial swap. The scope of work quoted for here comprises the swapping of the dial only and liability beyond same will not be accepted. If you do require service work or a formal appraisal of your watch, this can be quoted for separately.

It comes with Chopard boxes and our own warranty card. There are some small marks on the glass and the strap is a third party replacement (with genuine Chopard buckle), but these factors are fully reflected in this bargain price. A number of American websites consistently indicate that this model had a new price of $7,850.

The new equivalent would appear to be the model H3254, which has a US retail price of $7,600! We have no spare links and it is a small size. This is a dress watch and the prominent, feature glass could be damaged if knocked, so appropriate wear is advised.

The model is now discontinued in the UK but a NEW equivalent was at one time £3,400! Please note (1) such Cartiers are essentially very stylish DRESS watches; the automatic movements inside them are rarely perfect time-keepers and can seem noisy when the self-winding rotor turns (2) we would normally advise that anything between – 10 to + 15 seconds per day should be expected on these models, even after a service.
