Stainless steel Rolex “Pepsi” GMT-Master: 3175-calibre model 16700 from around 1993 with black dial and blue / red bezel insert, on Oyster 78360 bracelet. Comes with Rolex boxes, GMT-Master booklet, undated international papers and a Rolex UK service slip from April 2009. It would appear that the hands have been replaced at service, but the original SWISS-T<25 dial has been retained, now with beautifully mellowed tritium in the hour markers. There are a few, light signs of age and wear but this is a highly desirable model, extremely wearable and among the cheapest in the UK which still have their original papers.
The range of NEW GMT-Masters now starts from £8,850 but these older models have increasingly developed their own following in recent years. The halo effect of the almost-unobtainable new “Pepsi” 126710, which on the secondary market is currently selling for a great premium over RRP, should not be under-estimated.

£11,499 Stock number: 52-37-00136mm Rolex Day-Date “Tridor” model 18039B in three-colour 18ct gold from approx 1986 on matching white, rose and yellow gold President 8285 bracelet. Comes with brown “luggage” Rolex box, genuine 1986 Day-Date booklet (both being increasingly valuable accessories), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The silver / diamond dial has been added later – it is a genuine Rolex part, but the yellow coronet betrays the fact that it was intended for an all-yellow gold Day-Date. The white gold winding crown, however, IS correct for the TRIDOR model. We note some signs of wear / restoration to the bracelet and that the glass is generic, not from Rolex. All such factors are reflected in the price. There is no current NEW equivalent, but the TRIDOR Day-Date was traditionally more expensive than the plain, white gold version, whose new equivalent today is £32,000.

This watch shows only small signs of wear and has Rolex boxes, Submariner Date booklet, numbered green swing-tag and UK warranty card from David M. Robinson dated February 2012. The NEW equivalent is now £8,450 but both versions have been increasingly hard to find in the UK, so we had to pay and in turn are now selling this one at a significant premium. We have a number of other, genuine Rolex dials including diamond-set ones that we can fit into this watch at additional cost. Comes with original, large Rolex boxes, Day-Date booklet, red swing-tag and international papers dated November 2001. The NEW equivalent is now £25,050! The smart dial currently in place fits perfectly with the “stealth wealth” role of a white gold model, but our M.D. has a selection of other dials available for this model which can be fitted within a week such as white with batons, silver with diamonds, salmon pink with diamonds (round brilliant cut, baguette or even pave chapter-ring versions!) and even an ice blue Jubilee dial with diamonds, usually reserved for platinum models. £10,499 Stock number: 52-06-032Gent’s 18ct yellow gold Rolex Yachtmaster model 16628B with WHITE dial on Oysterlock 78768B bracelet. Comes with 16628 box-set, Yachtmaster booklet, our own warranty card and the Rolex UK papers from a £916 service / new glass, crown and spring-bars in 2013, after which it has not been worn! The case even retains its service stickers – our previous client simply asked us to store it for him in our safes. Please note: this watch has its U940xxx case number presented between the lugs at six o’clock in what we consider a slightly unusual style. We drew this specifically to the attention of Rolex UK but they have been happy to accept it for service and record that number as being correct. The bargain price reflects the fact that the bracelet shows signs of denting, repair and metal staining. The last NEW RRP was £20,800 . . . and most of the range has increased in price by about 10% since then!
