Having a case number in the S31xxxx range, this will be a mid-1990s watch. At that time the plain Oyster bracelet was a standard option and the “T11″ clasp code on this one denotes November 1995 manufacture of the part, suggesting that it is original to the watch. Showing few signs of its age, it comes with Rolex boxes, increasingly-rare GMT-Master booklet printed in 1994 (see pages 14 and following), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The NEW equivalent is now £7,750 (if you could find one) but these earlier models have increasingly attracted a collector following of their own.

It has just had a genuine, new Rolex bezel insert fitted and is in very pleasing condition, but we do note moderate signs of age / wear, signs of repair to the Fliplock rivet and that the glass fitted is generic, not by Rolex — all factors reflected in this keen price. The larger, NEW equivalent is now £9,000 (if you can find one….) but the earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right.
