This is the latest 36mm model ( launched c. 2019) with Rolex boxes, Datejust booklet, green swing-tag, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It is in very good condition after spending much of its short life in our pawnbroking safes, although under very close inspection we do note some superficial wear to the glass. The NEW RRP is now £6,450 but supply still seems weak in the UK. Clearly if you can find a new one at RRP then you might wish to buy that instead – but good luck finding one !

£5,399 Stock number: 52-56-013Outstanding condition! 36mm stainless steel and white metal Rolex Oyster Perpetual NON-date model 116034 from approx 2008, with most unusual two-tone silver / metallic blue / arabic numeral dial on Oyster 70200 bracelet. In excellent condition with both boxes, Oyster Perpetual booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. When we sold this watch previously it still had its original Rolex warranty card from Spain dated June 2015*, but this was no longer with it when the watch was recently traded back in with us. There is no direct new equivalent with a white metal bezel in today’s Oyster Perpetual range, but most such models are now in great demand and residual prices reflect the lack of stock available.
* The case number of this watch suggests that it was originally manufactured circa 2008 but there are a number of reasons why such a watch may not sell until some years later. The extraordinary condition and accompanying type of warranty card / document wallet that first came with it were consistent with the late date of sale.

This lovely example is one of the last with pierced lugs; it comes with Rolex 16610 boxes, Submariner booklet, international papers dated January 2003 and a Rolex UK service card dated December 2017. The NEW, fatter-cased equivalent model is now £6,250 (and rarely available in the UK without a long waiting list) but these earlier models have proved increasingly desirable in their own right, too.

£5,399 Stock number: 50-08-202Milgauss with green glass…but it’s NOT a GV model ! Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400 on Oyster 72400 bracelet with black / plain index dial, distinctive orange “lightning strike” seconds hand and (most curiously) a green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass. Green sapphire glass is normally found only on the “GV” versions of the Milgauss, which this is specifically not — it is a simple 116400, as the standard index dial and Rolex UK’s records show. We believe that the glass was fitted in error during service work by Rolex UK; they have confirmed that they serviced it, but do not record whether they fitted a plain or green glass in error! As can be seen in the additional images (which can be viewed by clicking on the main picture), we have compared it with a genuine GV and are confident that the green sapphire glass is genuine, showing the same depth, colour and bevelled edge as our control example. The watch is in excellent condition with negligible signs of wear. It comes with Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. Its V3xxxxx case number dates it to around 2009. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over a decade ago but remain very popular. Only a Milgauss GV model is available today, with a NEW RRP of £6,650. Like many of the more unusual Professional Rolex models in stainless steel, they can be hard to find at main agents. Furthermore, the discontinued, plain 116400 with simple index batons like this watch is now sought after in its own right.

This is an “M”-series watch with the engraved inner rehaut, in generally excellent condition with both boxes, Submariner booklet, numbered green swing-tag and the original UK warranty card from David M. Robinson dated May 2008, demonstrating beyond doubt that it left the factory as an LV. It has the lighter green bezel insert we would expect (closed 5 / pointed 4) which is in superb order…..in fact, all we can find to comment on with this watch is a negligible black mark at the edge of the glass near 4 o'clock. £5,299 Stock number: 12-66-009Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16760 on Oyster 78360 bracelet with black dial and red / black bezel insert. This is the short-lived transitional model (crudely named the “fat lady” by collectors) with 3085 calibre movement, its 8-million case number suggesting it is from the mid-1980s. The case seems to be in excellent condition and has not been over-polished, but please note that the dial is a luminova Rolex service replacement part (“SWISS MADE” text rather than “SWISS-T<25” at the bottom), and it appears from the date code in the bracelet clasp that this has also been replaced at a later date. In all, a lovely period GMT-Master coming with Rolex boxes and our own warranty card. The current, much fatter new equivalent is now £6,200 but these earlier models have proved increasingly desirable in recent years.

This 3035 calibre watch is in surprisingly nice condition for its age with only moderate wear to the bracelet. It has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don’t as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. It comes with international Rolex papers dated August 1986, later Rolex box, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them.
