£6,499 Stock number: 52-23-004Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 with black dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 93250 bracelet. This K47xxxx case number watch is one of the very last “pin-hole” lug examples, which were correctly supplied with the upgraded, solid end-link bracelet. It comes with original Rolex 16610 box set, Oyster booklet, international Rolex papers dated February 2002, numbered green swing-tag and a Rolex UK service slip from May 2006. The larger, NEW equivalent is now £6,550 (if you can find one!), but these earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right. It is in very pleasing condition, but it does show light signs of wear, including to the bezel insert which could be changed at next service.

This is one of the last few years’ production, an “M-series” watch with numbered inner rehaut. Has both boxes, Submariner booklet and UK warranty card from Fraser Hart dated July 2008. At some point this watch suffered a broken glass which has now been replaced, but some very small marks remain on dial and hands. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. The NEW equivalent is currently £7,150 (if you can find one!) but this generation of sports models is proving exceptionally desirable in its own right.

£6,499 Stock number: 52-43-018Stainless steel 40mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400GV with black / orange-accent dial, lightning bolt seconds hand and green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass, on Oyster 72400 bracelet. This V76xxxx case-number watch from around 2010 is in wonderful condition with Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over a decade ago but remain very popular. Like many of the “Professional” series of Rolex models in stainless steel, this can be a very hard watch to find at main agents. The NEW RRP is now £6,650 – but demand is such that a new watch can attract an immediate premium.

Has a genuine Rolex silver / diamond dot dial, but in addition the shoulders have been set with diamonds by a third party, NOT by Rolex. As purist fans of the brand we have never been too keen on such third-party customisation — and Rolex themselves would not now service this watch — but we price such pieces very reasonably as a result when we do get them. They always seem to be snapped up quickly! It is in very nice condition, coming with Your Rolex Oyster booklet, original Rolex papers dated December 1994 and later Rolex boxes. This example from the mid-1990s comes with Rolex boxes, Explorer booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It is in very pleasing condition with only moderate wear to the glass. The new equivalent now has an RRP of £6,800 but these earlier models have a market all of their own.

The bracelet was also very worn and has now been restored as best it could be by a third party specialist. £6,499 Stock number: 52-63-023Outstanding gold Rolex from the later 1970s! 34mm Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date model 1503 / 8 in 18ct yellow gold with classic champagne / baton dial. The condition of the case, bezel and bracelet indicate that despite its age this watch has so far been only rarely and carefully worn. It is correctly fitted with a light-weight “rivet” Oyster bracelet which is in superb condition, but this type of bracelet does not cope well if given a hard life and so we recommend that this watch be bought for DRESS wear only. Comes with vintage YOUR ROLEX OYSTER instruction booklet, modern Rolex boxes, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. Please note : (1) we no longer guarantee these older models to be water-resistant (2) this 1575 calibre model correctly has no “quick-set” facility for changing the date at the end of a short month, so the wearer must turn the hands through 24 hours to advance or reverse the date and (3) while the bracelet is in exceptional condition, this “rivet” style never proved especially strong and we suggest that it is kept for dress wear only. Now comes with a modern box, Datejust booklet and our own warranty card. Please note that a yellow crown has been fitted during service, but originally this will have been in white gold. The bracelet shows some signs of age / wear and is a small size, suitable for a slim gentleman or a lady to wear. We have sold this watch previously with the original papers from Bucherer in Switzerland dated April 1990, but they were no longer with the watch when we bought it back some years later.
