£7,799 Stock number: 52-20-016Stainless steel Rolex “Pepsi” GMT-Master model 16700 with original black “SWISS – T < 25” dial, Oyster 78360 bracelet and hugely popular red / blue bezel insert. Having a case number in the S31xxxx range, this will be a mid-1990s watch. At that time the plain Oyster bracelet was a standard option and the “T11″ clasp code on this one denotes November 1995 manufacture of the part, suggesting that it is original to the watch. Showing few signs of its age, it comes with Rolex boxes, increasingly-rare GMT-Master booklet printed in 1994 (see pages 14 and following), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The NEW equivalent is now £7,750 (if you could find one) but these earlier models have increasingly attracted a collector following of their own.

This is one of the last few years’ production, an “M-series” watch with numbered inner rehaut. Has both boxes, Submariner booklet and UK warranty card from Fraser Hart dated July 2008. At some point this watch suffered a broken glass which has now been replaced, but some very small marks remain on dial and hands. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. This circa 1986 model with the 3035 calibre movement is in surprisingly nice condition for its age with only moderate wear to the bracelet. It has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don't as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. It comes with genuine 16013 double box-set, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register to confirm that we checked it with them. The new equivalent is now £8,650!

This K47xxxx case number watch is one of the very last “pin-hole” lug examples, which were correctly supplied with the upgraded, solid end-link bracelet. It comes with original Rolex 16610 box set, Oyster booklet, international Rolex papers dated February 2002, numbered green swing-tag and a Rolex UK service slip from May 2006. The larger, NEW equivalent is now £6,550 (if you can find one!), but these earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right. It is in very pleasing condition, but it does show light signs of wear, including to the bezel insert which could be changed at next service.

Comes with original 69173 boxes, Datejust booklet, numbered green swing-tag, UK papers from Charles Fox in Bournemouth dated December 1987 and Rolex UK service slips from 1993 and 1999. The bicolour 62523 reference Jubilee bracelets originally fitted on these models often suffered if worn constantly and this one has been replaced with a genuine, all-steel Rolex Oyster 78240 bracelet from around 2002, which is in superb condition. Typically, a steel bracelet would be fitted because the cost of replacing the old, bicolour one like-for-like was deemed too expensive by its owner. We note that the dial, too, has been replaced with one of the more striking versions of recent years. Priced keenly to reflect its altered specification, this watch represents an unusual Rolex Datejust at a great price.

This late 1980s model was one of the earliest examples with the upgraded 3135 calibre movement and synthetic sapphire glass. It comes with a generic box, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It looks very smart but is priced very reasonably to reflect its condition. There are general signs of age / wear but specifically there are some small marks on the dial and the crown has only about half a “turn” of thread, which compromises water resistance. If treated as a dress watch that isn't to be considered water-proof, it could be a great buy! The nearest NEW equivalent model (126233) is now £8,650.

The NEW RRP is now £6,950 but this is one of several steel sports models that can be extremely hard to find in the UK, so we are selling it at a significant premium to the list price. Clearly if you can find one at RRP then you should buy it – we wish we could!

£7,499 Stock number: 52-19-009Collectible Date Submariner 16800 with gorgeous, original dial….fresh from 2019 service by Rolex UK! Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner 16800, the “transitional” model with synthetic sapphire glass, matt black dial and quick-set 3035 calibre movement on Oyster Fliplock 93150 / VE bracelet with 593 end-links. This is a desirable model, especially when fitted with the early dial that does not have white metal surrounds to the hour indices. With a 6.3m case number this one dates from the early 1980s, right at the start of the model’s short production run. It appears that inter alia the hands and bezel insert have been replaced at service, their luminous material not sharing the patina of that on the dial. A very nice example of an interesting version about whose future value many will speculate, it comes with Rolex boxes (possibly later?), our own warranty card and the Rolex UK service card dated January 2019. The new equivalent is now £6,550 (if you can find one), but a watch like this has increasingly enjoyed its own market.

£3,499 Stock number: 80-17-00241mm stainless steel Limited Edition James Bond 50th Anniversary Omega Seamaster Professional 300m Co-Axial automatic bracelet watch, model 212.30.41.20.01.005. Note the red “50” on the bezel, the 007 logo tessellated across the black dial and the rifled gun-barrel design to the case back. This holds a small sapphire display window that reveals a rotating “bullet” design to the rotor centre, whose “JAMES BOND 50 YEARS” text rotates when the watch is moved. This 2507 calibre model comes with extravagant 007 / Omega box set, instruction book, UK warranty card from the Omega Boutique at the Trafford Centre dated December 2012, the chronometer / limited series / pictogram cards, the numbered Certificate of Authenticity and a copy of the original Omega specification sheet. The inner box can be baffling at first, but a drawer opens on the right hand side when operated by a push-release mechanism. The watch shows only slight signs of wear but (as is common) this includes some visible marks in the anti-reflective coating of the glass. This model was made in only 11,007 examples and celebrated fifty years of James Bond in the cinema, “Dr. No” having been released in 1962.
