£27,999 Stock number: 52-67-023The epitome of “stealth wealth” : 18ct white gold Daytona, in excellent condition after spending much of its short life in a safe! 18ct white gold Rolex Cosmograph Daytona model 116519LN with smart “steel / bright black” / index baton dial, black Oysterflex strap and ceramic bezel. Both black rubber sections of the strap are NEW, supplied in 2023 by a Rolex main agent. These models are just as likely to be worn by gents or ladies now. Has large, original boxes, Cosmograph Daytona booklet, green swing-tag and UK warranty card from The Watches of Switzerland Group (Goldsmiths etc) dated August 2019. The NEW equivalent is now £27,050 but availability of many similar specification Daytonas remains poor, so we are selling it at a small premium (but less than many other dealers). The strap will fit a man’s average wrist and offers a small amount of adjustment, but if a different length is required we will order one on an exchange basis. We would anticipate doing this at no additional cost, but there may be some weeks’ wait for such a strap to arrive from Rolex. Additional pictures may be viewed by clicking through the main image.

£8,999 Stock number: 52-68-001Are you an LFC fan, or are you someone who always likes to bet on RED, or do you happen to have a red Ferrari? Then consider this extraordinary stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 (non-date) model 126000 on Oyster 72HB00 bracelet with eye-catching “CORAL RED” / index baton dial that was produced for only a limited period. Rolex with fancy-coloured dials have been extremely popular in recent years. In outstanding condition, it comes with both boxes, Oyster Perpetual booklet, green swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card dated September 2020. The NEW equivalent is now £5,300 but it is no longer available with this desirable and distinctive dial. Supply is still not meeting demand at the moment and many stainless steel Rolex are attracting a premium, as here.

£8,199 Stock number: 82-66-008Collectible, “full set” 1989 Submariner ! In production for just over twenty years, this is one of the earliest examples of the stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 with black bezel insert and tritium dial on 93150 bracelet. It comes with original 16610 box set (ref 68.00.2 with cushion & wrap / cardboard outer and in exceptional condition), both ROLEX SUBMARINER and YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklets *, both red COSC chronometer swing-tag and the numbered green “OYSTER SWIMPRUF” swing-tag, UK papers from Lepps in Warrington dated August 1989 in black document holder with translation leaflet, Rolex 1989-1990 calendar card and even the novelty “silver string” Rolex 1.000 / 300 anchor charm – accessories which on their own are worth several hundred pounds but when still accompanying the unique watch with which they were supplied add so much more ! The bracelet is in excellent condition, has correct 501 B end links and an “M11” clasp code suggesting manufacture of that part in November 1988. The watch head with L249xxx case number is in very good condition with thick lugs and only minor signs of wear to glass and bezel insert. The “SWISS – T < 25” dial is original and like many from this era it is a “spider” dial — that is to say, its gloss black surface has over time “crazed” with a fine pattern that is often hard to see with the naked eye, usually stable and resembles threads of a spider’s silk under magnification. A macro (close-up) image to illustrate this may be viewed by clicking through the main picture. It correctly has a 16610 case-back marked inside with the first four characters of the case number and a 3135 calibre Rolex movement bearing unique number 5223450. It still has the original green factory sticker, albeit quite worn, on the case-back! The larger, NEW equivalent Submariner is now £9,000 (if you can find one….) but the earlier models have proved increasingly popular in their own right and a “full set” like this is increasingly rare on the market.
* The Submariner booklet is a particularly desirable version. It has the print code “594.52 Eng – 7 – 9.1988” which indicates that it was intended for the English market and printed in September 1988. Importantly, it includes pictures / instructions for two very desirable models, the non-date Submariner 5513 and the Sea-Dweller 16660.

As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such parts to customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one that is already fitted there always seems to be a queue of buyers! This early 1990s watch is in very pleasing condition with only moderate wear to the bracelet. Comes with later Rolex box, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them.

A previous owner also had a diamond-set bezel fitted elsewhere, although this part is custom-made and NOT by Rolex. As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such parts on customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one already fitted like this there always seems to be a queue of buyers! In very good condition, it comes with large Rolex box set, Datejust booklet, numbered green swing-tag and UK papers from Mappin & Webb in Glasgow dated May 1995. £6,299 Stock number: 82-67-01226mm Rolex Datejust in 18ct yellow gold, model 69178 with sparkling champagne / diamond dot dial on President 8570 bracelet. This 1990 model comes with large, original “tapestry top” box set, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet, original shop receipt from Rolex main agents F.A.Buck Jewellers Ltd in Stoke-on-Trent dated March 1991, Rolex UK service slip dated June 2004, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The watch itself is largely in very good condition but we note moderate signs of age / wear to bracelet and some discolouration to parts of the dial, reflected in the price. The nearest NEW equivalent is now £25,400! We would generally recommend that any gold Rolex of this age should be considered a dress watch, not intended for hard wear.

£8,299 Stock number: 52-67-001Colourful variant, no longer offered by Rolex ! 40mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Milgauss model 116400GV on Oyster 72400A bracelet with “Z-Blue” / index dial, orange “lightning bolt” seconds hand and green-tinted synthetic sapphire glass. Has Rolex boxes, Milgauss booklet, red swing-tag and and UK warranty card from John D. Eaton Ltd in Derby dated October 2014. The highly anti-magnetic Milgauss models were re-introduced into the Rolex range over 15 years ago but this last version with its striking green glass / blue dial was especially popular. When it last appeared in UK price lists the NEW RRP was £7,850, but like many of the more unusual steel Professional models, it was always a very hard watch to source at main agents. Interest has only increased now production seems to have stopped. Priced reasonably to reflect superficial wear to the edge of the glass.

SOLD
£15,999 Stock number: 42-69-010Vintage Rolex GMT-Master with original Mark 5B dial *, so-called PEPSI bezel and in outstanding condition, still in Rolex UK service stickers! Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master model 1675 from around 1978 with 557xxxx case number. It was most recently serviced by Rolex UK in February 2017 and was then bought by S.S.Milton Ltd in Chester later that year. Still in its striped service stickers, it has lived thereafter unworn in our safes. Extensive service history may be viewed in our photo-essay (see link below). The Oyster 78360 bracelet with 580 end-links has an “O1” clasp code, suggesting that is an early 1990 replacement part. It has a Rolex 1575 calibre movement, the bridge marked 1570 as normal, its unique movement number D724674 shown in the photo-essay linked below. The movement is running well, testing close to spot on for time-keeping in July 2023, although this will vary slightly depending on the individual wearer. Its case, crown and glass are in excellent condition, the case numbering is crisp and clear, the bezel insert is excellent and the bezel rim is very good, if evenly worn. The bracelet shows some signs of age and wear, but this generation of Oysters was substantial and it has many years of reasonable wear left. The watch appears to have had little wear following the 2017 service by Rolex UK and since we bought it in September 2017 has simply sat in one of the Miltons’ safes! Comes with its original “sea-horse” Rolex box set (ref 10 001) with “50 YEARS OF THE ROLEX OYSTER” plaque, GMT-Master “clouds” booklet (itself rare and worth hundreds of pounds!), Rolex service slips from 2009 and 2017, further service paperwork from the Rolex main agent, Goldsmiths and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. A photo-essay of this watch with many more photographs is available by clicking here. Look at that beautiful, original dial with matching hands! Many more macro images may be viewed by clicking that link. Please note that while we have successfully tested water resistance for normal use including recreational swimming etc, we would advise that more extensive pressure testing be carried out before any significant underwater diving is considered. Many collectors of such vintage Rolex where the dial is a key part of the value wisely choose NOT to swim in them, as a simple mistake in securing the crown or any subsequent and unrecognised deterioration in sealing could see water enter the case, damage the dial and destroy significant value. If you want to fly your ‘plane in it of course, go right ahead !
* We write more about the classification of Rolex 1675 dials and provide a link to a superb website on the subject in the separate photo-essay which is available by clicking on the gold text above.

£13,999 Stock number: 52-66-009-51-05-074Stainless steel Daytona with box and 2014 warranty card, a former insurance write-off now revived with parts from another steel Daytona and priced to reflect its compromised status. Stainless steel Rolex Cosmograph Daytona model 116520, case number 1J9715U9 with black dial on Oysterlock 78490 bracelet. Has Rolex boxes, Cosmograph Daytona booklet, red swing-tag and international Rolex warranty card dated July 2014 when it appears to have been sold in Japan (possibly by the Rolex main agent Tompkins). This random case number watch is now in very attractive condition but its history and status needs to be documented clearly. We bought it in May 2018 from insurers in an unsaleable state. It had no bracelet, a fake black ceramic bezel and a skeletonised dial with broken balance assembly in its correct Rolex 4130 calibre movement. Insurers had asked Rolex UK to restore it but in January 2018 the latter rejected it because of the modifications. Rolex often “black-ball” such a watch and will not then service it again, although independent watch-makers can. We bought it as it was, in the hope of one day restoring it or using the parts. Then in June 2023 we bought another Rolex Daytona 116520 (circa 2005) from a regional UK police force. This second watch was also unsaleable in its own right because its mid-case had been re-numbered ( to F981806 ), but we realised that it could be the donor of other parts for the first watch. We then fitted the correct Rolex steel bezel and black dial from the second Daytona onto the first, with the Oysterlock 78490 bracelet and complete balance assembly (non-Parachrom). It should be noted that the 2014 watch we are selling would have had a 78590 bracelet rather than the almost identical 78490 from the 2005 watch that has been fitted, similarly it would have had a Parachrom balance rather than the non-Parachrom from the earlier watch, while the glass fitted is generic, not by Rolex. The latest ceramic bezel model now has a NEW RRP of £12,700 but like its predecessors will be almost impossible to get from main agents and found on the secondary market offered with a large premium. The earlier 116520 is an enduringly popular choice and remains in its own right one of the most sought after models. If you have any questions about this watch, please ask to speak with one of Miltons Watch Team, including two former managers of Rolex main agents. For interest only, an image of the watch that we are selling shown next to the “left-over” parts assembled in a second, monstrous watch that we won't be retailing may be viewed by clicking through the main picture. A tabular record of the parts used from the two source watches should also then be visible.

£6,299 Stock number: 62-66-00236mm stainless steel Rolex Datejust model 116200 with pink / index baton dial on Jubilee 63600 bracelet. The watch has been fitted previously with a custom-made diamond-set bezel which is NOT by Rolex. As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such individual parts on customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one already fitted like this there always seems to be a queue of buyers! In excellent condition with minimal wear to the glass, it comes with Rolex boxes, Datejust booklet and international warranty card dated August 2015. The nearest NEW equivalent (with just a polished steel bezel) now has an RRP of £6,450 — but availability of most stainless steel models is currently very poor, keeping residual prices very strong.

£13,999 Stock number: 12-52-009One of the most wearable vintage Sea-Dwellers available! Stainless steel Rolex Sea-Dweller 1665 from around 1975 with 408xxxx case number and straight “ROLEX” text across the case-back. Yes, those in the know will realise that the case number and case-back style prove that this watch was originally an even more highly desirable “Double Red” Sea-Dweller, but in 2004 it was serviced by Rolex UK who fitted this new “Great White” service replacement dial with Luminova markers. They also appear to have fitted a new Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet with 585 end-links (its “S DT4” clasp code identifying it as a service part, manufactured in April 2002). The main 1665 case and 1665 case-back both show the same, matching 408xxxx case number in full. It has a Rolex 1575 calibre movement, the bridge marked 1570 as normal, and its unique movement number D952xxx is shown in the photo-essay linked below. The movement is running well, testing on average to be + 4 seconds per day in July 2023, although this will vary slightly depending on the individual wearer. Its case, bracelet, crown and glass are in excellent condition, the case numbering is crisp and clear, the bezel insert is is excellent and the bezel rim is very good – we note a small bump on its inner rim, near the 3 minute marker. The watch appears to have had little wear after the 2004 service by Rolex and since April 2016 has simply sat in one of the Miltons’ safes! Offered with a period-correct Rolex box (ref 67.00.03), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It is interesting to note that the case numbers of this batch of 1665s appear to sit adjacent to a batch of rare Submariner 5514s made for the French diving company COMEX. A photo-essay of this watch with many more photographs is available by clicking here. While we might have preferred that it retained its original and much more valuable dial, this watch in its refurbished form and with the extremely good bracelet offers much of the charm of a vintage Sea-Dweller combined with the smart look and wearable nature of a later model. Please note that while we have successfully tested water resistance for normal use including recreational swimming etc, we would advise that more extensive pressure testing be carried out before any significant underwater diving is considered.
Our extensive research and record-keeping over many years leads us to conclude that Sea-Dweller 1665s featured the word “ROLEX” written straight across the case back on all watches with case numbers below c. 520xxxx, after which “ROLEX” was written in a conspicuously curved style. That same research allows us to determine that Double Red dials were fitted in Sea-Dweller 1665s until at least the high 529xxxx range of case numbers, after which they fitted dials with text all in white. More is written about this in our photo-essay, available through the link above.

£1,999 Stock number: 50-63-043Lady’s stainless steel Cartier Roadster quartz bracelet watch, case style 2675 with pink / roman numeral dial. It comes with a Cartier box, Roadster instructions booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. Priced keenly to reflect minor signs of wear to the glass. As a dress watch with a simple push-in crown, we recommend that it should not be considered water-resistant.

£3,899 Stock number: 80-60-004Lady’s 26mm stainless steel Rolex Datejust model 69174 on Jubilee 62510 bracelet with silver / diamond dot dial and diamond bezel which have been custom-made, NOT by Rolex. Please note that while this style of channel-set bezel creates a sparkling piece, stones may be lost if it suffers hard wear or a sharp knock — so we advise that it is used for dress wear only. As loyal devotees to the Rolex brand we are not great fans of customised pieces and will not supply such parts on customer request, but when our pawnbroking departments are left with one already fitted like this there always seems to be a queue of buyers! This 1997 model is in very pleasing condition but under close examination we do not some minor signs of age / wear to the dial and bracelet. Comes with later Rolex box, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them.

It comes with original Breitling pouch, numbered swing-tag, a Chrono Colt II instruction booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. This model is no longer produced but the new price in July 2016 was £2,910. Please ask for a demonstration by our Breitling-trained colleagues, Phil Ellison or Paul Aspinall.

In superb condition, it comes with both boxes, Oyster Perpetual booklet, numbered green swing-tag and UK warranty card from David M. Robinson in Liverpool dated November 2013. A NEW Air-King now costs £6,250 but in truth a closer new equivalent may be the plain Oyster Perpetual 34 model 124200 at £4,850. Supply is still not meeting demand and residual prices of such watches remain very strong.

£13,999 Stock number: 52-66-0032022 watch with latest dial – barely worn after spending much of its short life in the safe! 44mm stainless steel Rolex Yachtmaster II model 116680 with white dial and blue ceramic bezel insert on Oysterlock 78210 bracelet. Has both boxes, Yachtmaster II instruction booklet, both swing-tags and international Rolex warranty card dated June 2022, when it was purchased from Goldsmiths in Liverpool. The NEW RRP is now £16,000 but (as with many steel versions of the Rolex professional series) supply is limited and residual prices have a life of their own. This is a complicated watch but fortunately it retains the valuable instruction booklet. Rolex also provide a video guide on their website, which we can locate for you if required. Please note the triangular marker at the top of the dial, where earlier examples had just a square marker like those either side of it.

£36,999 Stock number: 52-65-010Magnificent, all-original gold and diamond Rolex! 34mm Rolex Datejust model 81338 on original “chevron” diamond-set 74858 bracelet with double-diamond bezel and full pavé diamond / black enamel roman numeral dial. Comes with HUGE Rolex presentation / jewellery box set, Datejust booklet, red chronometer swing-tag and original UK papers dated August 2006. From our archived records we have found this exact specification offered in the Rolex UK October 2008 price list (shortly before it appears to have been discontinued) at £45,510 …but prices for new watches have risen enormously since then. Further images may be viewed by clicking through the main picture. Please note that this style of bracelet correctly has plain gold links (without diamonds) on the clasp side, where any diamond setting would be more exposed to wear and damage.

£4,499 Stock number: 52-63-007Bought from a large, private collection, this “safe-queen” from 2001 looks like it has just come from the shop! Stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King Precision model 14010M with popular blue / 3-6-9 dial on Oyster 78350 bracelet. It comes with Rolex boxes, Your Rolex Oyster booklet and blank, undated UK papers from Fraser Hart. The previous owner had around twenty mint Rolex watches, many of them never worn, and this one is another stunner, having even its original sticker still on the case-back! A NEW Air-King now costs £6,250 if you can find one, but realistically a closer new equivalent may be the plain Oyster Perpetual 34 model 124200 at £4,850….and neither watch is readily available at the time of writing.
SOLD
£4,299 Stock number: 52-34-01126mm bicolour Rolex Datejust model 69173 with unusual white / diamond dot dial with small roman numerals, on Jubilee 62523 bracelet. This 1987 model comes with Rolex 69173 boxes, Your Rolex Oyster booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The nearest NEW equivalent is now £10,950! This watch is priced very reasonably to reflect a number of factors : (1) the fluted bezel and bracelet both show signs of wear, such that we now recommend this watch be kept for dress wear only, (2) under magnification, it can be seen that the dial paint is deteriorating and (3) the case and model numbers are both substantially worn *
* Ladies’ Rolex Datejusts of this generation are often now found with one or more of the numerals in the case number obscured by bracelet wear. This was caused by the end-links rubbing constantly against the case. In this instance the third and fifth digits of the unique case number are obscured by bracelet wear, but luckily we were able to confirm the correct case number of the watch from its service history through a Rolex main agent and Rolex UK.
SOLD
£3,299 Stock number: 52-70-00536mm stainless steel Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust model 1603 from the late 1970s with silver / baton “pie-pan” dial and Jubilee 62510 bracelet. It has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don't as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistance. Because of its age, we offer it with only a ONE year warranty and ask you to note : (1) this model correctly has no “quick-set” facility for changing the date at the end of a short month, so the wearer must turn the hands through 24 hours to advance the date and (2) the bracelet shows some signs of age and wear. It is priced very reasonably to reflect the above. Comes with our own presentation box & warranty card, and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. With a similar, NEW 36mm Datejust today costing £6,650 it is easy to see why such vintage models appear increasingly attractive. Please ask one of our Rolex-trained specialists, Phil or Paul, to discuss this watch with you.

£4,999 Stock number: 50-64-021Limited edition “SPECTRE” James Bond model – and what a set ! Gent's stainless steel Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial Chronometer automatic bracelet watch, model 231.10.42.21.03.004. This special edition was one in a series created to celebrate the brand's association with the modern Bond films. It has a dark blue dial with background motif picking up detail from the Bond family crest (also depicted in miniature on the second hand) and yellow details including the Bond-branded “15007” text, this being the number of examples manufactured. Its 8507 calibre movement is beautifully revealed by the glass display-back, allowing admirers to see the rotor with subtle “bullet case” design to the centre and swirled “rifling” design, reminiscent of the film series' opening credit sequence. In excellent condition, it comes with huge Omega box set *, instruction book, branded eye-glass, instruction leaflet and tool for swapping bracelet and strap, the alternate blue strap with yellow stitching (superb condition), international warranty card dated January 2017 in blue card-holder, numbered certificate of authenticity and a receipt for a service under warranty performed through David M. Robinson in June 2019. Some additional photographs are available if one clicks through the main image. Please ask for one of our specialist Watch Team to discuss this interesting watch with you.
* The inner box is beautifully finished with the repeating motif seen on the watch dial and the “Bond family crest” for its push-button opener, but the cardboard outer carton shows signs of wear and damage, its vulnerable, fold-down front flap completely missing.

£4,899 Stock number: 82-63-00426mm stainless steel and white metal Rolex Datejust model 69174 with silver / diamond dot dial in the newer style with larger settings, on Jubilee 62510 bracelet. This late 1990s model is in excellent condition. It comes with Rolex boxes, Datejust booklet, our own warranty card and six certificates* from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The NEW equivalent is now £8,600 !
* Ladies’ Rolex Datejusts of this generation are often now found with one or more of the numerals in the case number obscured by bracelet wear. This was caused by the end-links rubbing constantly against the case. In this instance the fifth digit is partially obscured by bracelet wear, so we have checked all of the possible case numbers it might be….which is why we offer it with six ALR certificates, confirming that each of the possible numbers has been checked with them.

It comes with international Rolex papers dated August 1986, later Rolex box, YOUR ROLEX OYSTER booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. The new equivalent is now £12,400 !
