This watch was presented to a friend of the company by the Rolex Watch Co. Ltd. It comes with original box, an Oyster booklet and UK papers stamped by the company, dated August 1989 and still in their green plastic wallet. The watch is in many ways in lovely order for its age but we do note some signs of wear and most importantly that the DIAL has faded unevenly to a light blue / grey. This is reflected in the price. This circa 1986 model with the 3035 calibre movement is in surprisingly nice condition for its age. It has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don't as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistancy. This late 1980s model with the 3035 calibre movement is in surprisingly nice condition for its age, though there is some wear to the bracelet. It comes with original 16013 boxes, Datejust booklet, a Rolex UK service slip from July 2008 and our own warranty card. Unusually, this watch has been fitted with a synthetic sapphire glass that is not by Rolex, to update the older and more easily marked acrylic glass. We don't as a rule approve of such work, but this appears to have been very well executed, it modernises the watch and tests well for water-resistancy. The new equivalent is now £8,050!
