This beautiful watch with ETA-based / Tudor rotor movement appears barely to have been worn. After careful examination, all that we can find on which to comment is some minor spotting on the hands and a tiny mark on the lower edge of the case, below 9 o'clock. It comes with original 75090 boxes, plastic document wallet, punched UK papers from Bowden & Sons in Plymouth dated September 1995 and translation leaflet. While many people like the “blackout” look and the idea of a customised Rolex, we advise careful consideration before purchase and have priced it keenly to reflect our concerns with the process. Please note that the watch has been heavily modified by third party “Brevet+,“ that this is work NOT approved by Rolex, and they would probably not service the watch in this form. It has a random case number with numbered inner rehaut, suggesting that it is one of the last examples of the 14060M. It has been given an all-black coating and the dial has been replaced by a “Brevet+” dial (not made by Rolex) picking up classic design elements of genuine vintage Submariners such as the “Explorer” 3-6-9 numerals and red text. The watch comes with Rolex boxes, a Submariner booklet and our own warranty card. Bearing in mind the third party customisation work, we have limited our two year warranty to cover the mechanical elements only; the third party elements including black coating look to have been done professionally but we do not guarantee them as we would original Rolex parts. Only the dial, which has mellowed evenly from a deep blue to an attractive lilac colour as they often did, shows signs of its age*. £3,699 Stock number: 72-18-00736mm bicolour Rolex Datejust model 16233 with champagne / baton dial, from the early 1990s on a later, steel bracelet. The bicolour 62523 reference Jubilee bracelets on these models often suffered if worn hard, and this one has been replaced with a genuine, all-steel Rolex Jubilee 62510 bracelet which is in superb condition. Usually a steel bracelet was fitted because the cost of replacing the old, bicolour one like-for-like was deemed too expensive by its owner. Priced keenly to reflect its altered specification, it offers a great value Datejust supplied with a later Oyster booklet, our own presentation box, warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. £3,699 Stock number: 72-27-00536mm bicolour Rolex Datejust model 16013 with classic champagne / baton dial on Jubilee 62523 bracelet. Although the bracelet does show moderate wear, this mid-1980s model with 3035 calibre movement is in surprisingly nice condition for its age. It has been fitted with a replacement acrylic glass that is not by Rolex. It comes with original 16013 box set, Datejust booklet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register to confirm that we checked it with them. It appears that this watch was sold in February 1987 by Laing the Jeweller in Edinburgh, but unfortunately (as was surprisingly common) that jeweller gave the wrong COSC certificate out with it, which has now been retained to avoid confusion. Please note that we no longer guarantee these older, plastic glass models to be water-resistant. The new equivalent is now £9,350!
