Stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II model 16710 T with black “SWISS MADE” dial and so-called “Pepsi” red / blue bezel insert on Oysterlock 78790A bracelet. This lovely 3185-calibre model has original boxes, GMT-Master booklet, both swing-tags*, UK papers from David M. Robinson in Liverpool dated February 2006 and a Rolex UK service card dated May 2015. It is in superb condition! The market for NEW steel GMT-Masters has now gone mad but these slightly slimmer, previous-generation models have in the last decade enjoyed a very strong market that has been all their own. A superb “four-line” Rolex Submariner with box, UK warranty card etc ! Stainless steel Rolex non-date Submariner model 14060M with black dial and bezel insert on Oyster Fliplock 93150 bracelet. This M-case number watch with four-line “SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED” text and numbered inner rehaut is one of the later examples of what has in recent years become an extremely desirable model. Earlier versions did not feature the additional SCOC text on the dial. It is surprising to see the papers dated so late for a P42xxxx case number watch, probably made in the year 2000, but Rolex agents sometimes did hold special pieces back for their biggest clients etc. It is in excellent condition with only light signs of wear to the bezel. The NEW ceramic bezel models now have an RRP of £9,550 but “waiting lists” are generally closed and that model is commonly being sold on the secondary market for over £16,000. £12,499 Stock number: 52-53-003Serviced by Rolex in November 2017 – a very desirable “Kermit” 16610 LV from 2006 with boxes, tags, UK papers and more! Stainless steel Rolex Date Submariner model 16610 T / LV with Mark IV maxi dial and green “slim 4” / “thin 4” bezel insert. This is a D6xxxxx case-number watch in excellent condition with both boxes in delivery sleeve, Submariner booklet, both swing-tags (the green one’s sticker specifying that it is a 16610LV), delivery bezel protector, original UK papers dated April 2006 and a Rolex UK service card dated November 2017, again specifying that it is a 16610LV. The original owner paid £475 for a full service through a main agent at that time. Correctly, this version has a plain, un-numbered inner rehaut. It is in excellent condition with perfect glass, excellent bracelet and only the very lightest of marks on the bezel insert. There is a fatter, new equivalent model made by Rolex, though usually not available without a huge premium now. The older models have been increasingly sought after since they were discontinued some years ago and have proved enduringly collectible.

In excellent condition for its age, this watch comes with large Rolex 18238 boxes, Day-Date booklet, numbered green swing-tag and original, punched papers from Oman. These papers are dated October 1990 (which is consistent with the watch’s L537xxx case number), but someone has subsequently tried to make the date look like “1999”, as if the watch were much newer. We have now added “1990” clearly on the papers to prevent any later misunderstanding. The 18238 was the first model to feature the double quick-set feature for easy, independent alteration of the Day and Date, thanks to its 3155 calibre movement. The NEW equivalent is now £29,100!

£12,999 Stock number: 62-13-004Classic 1970s Rolex Explorer / Explorer 1 * with “Frog’s Foot” dial, FRESH FROM SPECIALIST ROLEX SERVICE by Steven Hale Watch Restoration Ltd. ! Various generations of stainless steel Explorer with their classic and easy-to-read black / 3-6-9 dials have been celebrated as the choice for adventurers. After a few early models like the 6150 (as issued to the Royal Navy Hydographic Survey), the Explorer model 1016 was introduced and during some thirty years in production this model earned its reputation as a classic collectible. This Rolex Explorer 1016 with 298xxxx case number has a case-back date-stamped for the first quarter of 1972. It retains its original “Mark 1” matt black / Arabic quarters “Frog’s Foot” dial, so called because the Rolex coronet is printed in a distinctive style that is reminiscent of a frog’s webbed foot. The dial is clean to the naked eye although with a 10x loupe one can find some tiny marks, and it has well-matched hands that we believe are the originals. The bracelet is the light-weight, folded steel Oyster 7836 with 358 end-links, in very nice condition. It has a Rolex 1570 calibre movement with unique movement number 236642 as illustrated in the photo-essay linked below. The movement is running well, testing at a gain of only a few second per day on average in October 2023, although this will vary slightly depending on the individual wearer. Its mid case is in fine condition with lugs that have not been over-polished, the crown and bezel are excellent and the case numbering is crisp and clear. Offered with a genuine Explorer 1016 / 1655 instruction booklet (itself a valuable collectible!), Rolex “Green-Stripe” box-set (matching inner and outers ref 06.00.06), red COSC swing-tag, plastic document wallet and chronometer translation leaflet, our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. M.S.Milton Ltd in Birkenhead bought this watch from an individual in January 2019. It lived thereafter unworn in our safes until April 2023 when we sent it to Steven Hale Watch Restoration Limited, a fully accredited Rolex watch-maker and one of the UK’s leading vintage specialists. The watch enjoyed £1,596 worth of work including a full movement service and the fitting of new glass, flush-fit ends, rotor axle, reversers, barrel, tube, upper crown and core. This watch in its refurbished form will perhaps attract the discerning and discreet collector with an appreciation of Rolex’s 20th century history. Stainless steel Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 model 116600 with black dial and ceramic bezel insert on Oyster Glidelock 97400 bracelet. Comes with both boxes, Sea-Dweller 4000 booklet, both swing-tags, UK warranty card from Aurum Group (Goldsmiths etc) and Rolex UK service card dated January 2023. Rolex fans were delighted when the company re-introduced an SD4000 into the range, after the bulk of the DeepSea 116660 version had put off so many ordinary buyers. The more practical size of this model, the lack of a sometimes-annoying “cyclops” magnifying lens and 60-minute marked bezel (a nod to Rolex’s military past) were instant hits. The NEW equivalent is now £11,150 (if you could find one….), but these discontinued models have a market all of their own.

This 1988 model comes with later Rolex boxes, correct Day-Date booklet (itself now increasingly valuable!), our own warranty card and a certificate from the ALR Watch Register confirming that we checked it with them. It is in very good condition but we do note that the glass is a generic replacement, not by Rolex. The 18238 with its 3155 calibre movement was the first model to feature the double quick-set feature for easy, independent alteration of the Day and Date. The NEW equivalent is now £36,900 !
